Season 1, The Trial

Why would the judge get the case or not be subject to clear disqualification when it was his car that was "stolen" and used to kill a person. Seems waaaaaay to easy to see that the judge had an interest in the case.

I also don't understand how the original judge was removed. So she get pulled over for stereotyping, though she was drunk and deserves the punishment and obviously thought she was above the law, but why would she be removed from the case? She got a DUI, but what law says she can't continue to fulfill her judicial duties pending trial?

Not really the same case though, so it can be justified. Plus the intended judge was unavailable so he had to step in as kind of an emergency.

The other judge could have stayed on the trial, but would have been raked over the coals for it in the media. Preferred to avoid that.

It's not the same case, but it seems like an obvious conflict of interest when the victim stole your car to kill someone else.
