Was it ever brought up that he was in the passenger seat? Surely that would have been an important point, but I don't recall it ever being mentioned.

Everyone just seemed to be accepting it as misadventure or suicide or something, never one word about another person being involved.

I'd need to watch it again to check and be sure but I thought Kendall had tried to free him from the car initially so might have loosened his seat belt which meant he was free from the passenger seat.

S2, Ep1 - The bodyguard guy told Kendall that he wasn’t wearing a seatbelt and shifted or something that made it look like he could have been driving alone.
