Guarantee this movie will flop at the box office and we will get the now usual article about how men hate women in lead roles or whatever while completely ignoring the overly preachy and anti-male rhetoric in the film.

Also, it only has a 75 million budget so the bar for success is low for this. It only needs to make about 300 million worldwide in order to be profitable.

shareThe sooner you realize that some things are just institutions at this point then you won’t have to try so hard to prop up DC movies. “Goodwill with the public”? That’s like trying to claim a moral victory. Budweiser, Nike, Pepsi, apple, apple pie, boobs, and rock and roll. These are institutions in our society the world over. Like it or not, Marvel is as well. This is how little known entities like guardians of the galaxy and black panther become wildly popular. The same will probably be true for black widow because folks will go to the theater for the marvel tag. Most of your posts reek of desperation and the need to feel vindicated.
The more you keep bringing up marvel vs DC the worse you will look. But if you insist on a nerd fight then you should probably choose the winning side rather than constantly punching from the bottom.

Not sure I agree. The new Star Wars video game has broken multiple sales records and this is after the previous Star Wars game was marred in controversy over its up sell model. I have never seen such backlash for a game ever. To top it off that game wasn’t very good. So the new Star Wars game doesn’t have online play capability to play off of and its still making tons of money. Why? Because it’s Star Wars. Oh, and my 7 year old daughter cannot stop singing some baby yoda song that is apparently the biggest thing going with kids these days.
Don’t let the fact that solo sucked and there’s too many women in the new trilogy or whatever else people are bitching about. Star Wars is like pizza and sex. Even when it’s bad, it’s still pizza and sex and that’s pretty damn good.

From iron man 1 until now will be seen as Marvels golden age. But enough equity has been built to garner many years of institutional success. You’re also thinking small picture, box office. Look at the big picture. Look at all platforms. Spider-Man isn’t going anywhere.
At this stage marvel is looking to re-invent and re-imagine. That’s a freedom that they have built for themselves. They won’t be rebuilding for a long time like DC has had to do. I am rooting for both because I like nerdy crap.

shareI don't know. Harley Quinn seems to be a weirdly popular character(personally I never really got the appeal) and Margot Robbie's version of the character seemed to be popular among audiences so I'd say it has a chance unless it just flat out sucks.
