Fucking hated The Witch, but this was quite good. The Twilight twink brought the goods, the director did an amazing Ingmar Bergman impression, & Willem Dafoe probably deserves an Oscar for this.

Yeah, Defoe played the greatest pirate since Mr Krabs.
Pattinson had four different accents

Not sure yet what the whole thing was about.
Reminded me of Eraserhead, which is the greatest b&w surreal black horror/ comedy of all time
I think that I'm going to have to see this for Dafoe as the pirate. And for some really eerie photography hopefully.

sharei absolutely loved it, for whatever that's worth. don't ask me what it's about - i'm no good at such things - but i loved every second of it, it's stayed rolling about in my head since i saw it, & i'm probably going to sneak out & see it again this week.
