Not really working


Neither character was all that riveting to watch. The script didn't really have anything else particularly special either.

His character is understandable, a salt of the earth, very scheduled and logical type.
She, on the other hand, didn't make sense psychologically. She's presented as an introverted, people-pleasing book nerd, but at times she turns into a sexually-aggressive extrovert. Now this kind of transformation could make sense if the character was under a lot of stress, but she wasn't. Not really. So it's kind of weird. I wonder if the book was like that too or whether the movie just left a lot of stuff out.

There was a big, confrontative speech Lucy gives to Josh's father that you would expect to have some payoff later on, but nope, that's it. No resolution.
