Old man death and the mallet
Was the third blow with the mallet to his head there for comic effect? His head had literally split into 2 with the second blow, so it seemed ridiculous but also funny they were going for a third blow to the head to make sure he was dead.
They should have cut that bit out if they were trying to go for serious, cause it even looked stupid in the shot with the mallet sort of bouncing off his head and not doing anything.
