Obviously fake Imdb rating from Star Wars trolls. Will rise on holiday weekend.

In second, look for Lionsgate's Knives Out to carve out its own place this weekend. The film enters its Wednesday opening having already held two separate sneak peek performances. Over this past weekend the film held preview showings on Friday and Saturday night in 936 locations, from which it generated $2.05 million. Then, last night it held preview screenings in over 2,500 locations and added another $1.66 million. Lionsgate will be adding all $3.7 million to the film's opening day with studio expectations, as of Monday, in the low-to-mid $20 million range. Meanwhile, industry expectations are leaning a bit higher, as are we, targeting a five-day performance anywhere from $25-29+ million over the five-day and considering the film has already brought in nearly $4 million it is well on its way.

Rian Johnson’s Knives Out is performing better than I could have hoped. The acclaimed and buzzy murder mystery flick, starring deep breath, Daniel Craig, Ana De Armas, Chris Evans, Jamie Lee Curtis, Christopher Plummer, Katherine Langford, Lakeith Stanfield, Toni Collette, Don Johnson, Jaeden Martell and Michael Shannon, earned another $10.693 million on Friday, up 73% from Thanksgiving. That also positions the $40 million, Lionsgate/MRC/T-Street release for a $25 million Fri-Sun/$41 million (including sneak previews) Wed-Sun debut.

In second place is Lionsgate's release of Rian Johnson's Knives Out, which came in well ahead of expectations, delivering an estimated $41.7 million over the five-day weekend, serving as the 16th largest five-day Thanksgiving opening ever. The film is also looking at a strong run ahead as word of mouth seems high thanks to an "A-" CinemaScore and what is currently an 8.1/10 rating on IMDb. The opening weekend audience was 51% male with 68% of the overall crowd coming in aged 25 or older.

Internationally, Knives Out added another $28.3 million for a $70 million global debut, which includes a $13.5 million launch in China, where it ranked #3 in the marketplace. Additional openings include a $3.8 million opening in the UK followed by Russia ($2m), Australia ($1.9m) and France ($1.5m). The film will add another 14 markets next weekend including South Korea, Denmark, Italy, Mexico and Norway.
