Why does this movie even exist?

We all know that Chadwick Boseman's death is going to change the story in the way Marvel didn't want, so why make it especially when the star of the film who made it a hit is dead?

reply

I agree. I liked the first one and Boseman was really good. This one is going to have a shadow cast over it.

reply

I didn't like the film but thought he was great in it.

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

reply

But without Chadwick, will it make money?

reply

Yes. Are you suggesting otherwise?

Additionally there remains a story to tell regardless of Chadwick Boseman.

reply

It’ll be another crap woke Marvel sequel. There’s no demand to see this, especially without Boseman.

reply

Neither of those sentences have any validity.

reply

The truth doesn’t ‘have any validity’ for you? That’s not a mindset that will serve you well.

reply

Whether any of the sequels are crap is subjective. Literally a matter of opinion that cannot be true.

There being no demand to see this movie is also not true. People want to see Marvel movies no matter what.
Believing that what YOU believe to be true is fact, is not a mindset that serves you well.

reply

I don't think it will be as big a hit.

reply

The reason the original movie was a hit was not because of Chadwick, but Marvel brand, that much is clear.

I think that is why Disney thought his death did not matter.

reply

Of course it will. Even awful superhero movies are making bank. You guys are lapping up this shit...

reply

Boseman was great but just pick a new actor and call him T'Chala. People will get used to it. Nothing new.

reply

I agree it seems pointless as Marvel refuses to recast the character. Boseman was good in the role but with Black Panther being important in many events in the comics which could be adapted to the movies, they should recast him rather than kill him.

reply

I’m a fan of the MCU and even I have little interest in seeing this.

I’m not even curious to see what film they’ve made without T’Challa because I don’t want a Black Panther sequel without T’Challa, it’s a terrible idea.

reply

Maybe they should just call it "Wakanda Forever" and advertise it as a spinoff.

reply

We'll, I guess they figure that since the Black Panther is a title that gets passed down from generation to generation, that they'll just go ahead and pass it to someone else instead of recasting the roll of T'challa. They probably just didn't want to recast out of respect for him I guess, I don't know.

I hope they don't recast Thunderbolt Ross either. Bill was looking forward to playing the Red Hulk. So who knows if they'll ever even do that now. But if they do I would like to see them use a CGI version of Bill and then have his likeness for the face of the Red Hulk and use a similar voice.

reply

Maybe they should do it like Dr. Who and keep changing the lead character.

reply

I have an answer. I know who would make a good new Panther and it would NOT lessen Boseman's legacy. He at first fought T'Challa for the kingdom and lost, with T'Challa sparing his life. M'Baku as played by Winston Duke. He would be perfect. His character was offered it once. Why not again.

I also have another question.
When Killmonger was King and ordered the destruction of the plants that confer superhuman abilities, only one plant was saved.
How are they going to confer superhuman abilities now?

reply

I don't recall nearly enough of the movie to answer that question.
