I don't think I get it?

He was the baby. OK.. So... What does that mean? He has to be the next candyman? And what was Burke's motivation here? He had to make some prophecy come true? Then the 1992 candyman says to tell everyone. Tell them what? Why is he there now?

Stylistically this movie was good, I'm just trying to make sense of it.

The end was a bit of a mess. They didn't stick the landing in the last 3rd

^this, the third act felt rushed in at the last minute, there was no build up or story arc leading towards this.

I genuinely don't think the movie makes sense.

I don't there was a coherent vision here. I can't help but feel that maybe Peele started with some ideas and scenes, and the follow up writers added filler, but without really taking into account how it all comes together. So you end up with seemingly conflicting ideas that's not quite subtle enough to leave it up to the viewer, but not explicit enough to have some things make sense. So it just feels like a hodgepodge of ideas that wasn't quite edited. Like the Last Jedi, which feels like it went through script transformations so you just see disparate pieces all over it.
