Is it true, was this movie supposed to be a team-up movie?

I heard rumors that this movie was supposed to be a team-up movie and a different villain. But they changed it with wanda being the villan and trying to get her kids back.

I recall hearing about Wanda and Strange fighting all the way back in 2018 or so. It’s likely the initial sequel idea was going to be different considering the hook at the end of the first Dr. Strange movie though.

I saw some concept arts of wanda and Strange working together.

I read that Nightmare was suggested as a villain in the development stages.

The OG script reportedly didn't even include Wanda.

This movie was apparently totally different before Scott Derrickson left the project. But all that is speculation
