great acting, forever marred

Will Smith reached the pinacle of his career, winning the Oscar for Best Actor

It was well deserved...but his shameful and unacceptable violence marred the Oscar forever.

And this movie will always be remebered for this, sadly.

“We don’t know all the details of what happened,” Williams, whom Smith portrayed in King Richard, said via his son Chavoita LeSane. “But we don’t condone anyone hitting anyone else unless it’s in self-defense.”

yes! And I believe in the movie that he is a very non violent person.

I didn't see it either, it was certainly felt around the country though. As a tennis person and a sports fan in general the slap or hit wouldn't mar it, not having observed this violence before from big Willie
