How can you not like Brad Pitt? Don't know why, but those posters are pretty cool.
. . . freedom exists even more in Europe than in any of the 'Americas'.
Have you tried buying a gun in Europe? Or carrying one in public for self-defense? Have you considered that maybe Superman believes in what we might call traditional American values and that he has gratitude toward the nation that took him in and raised him as its own? I do hope that it's excellent. It would be a great late-career achievement for Costner and also a great tribute to the westerns of old. As you say, "just good ol' cinema," like we got before everything got politicized and before the inmates started running the asylum that is Hollywood. Wyatt Earp may have flopped but it's not a bad film. While it's certainly no Tombstone, I enjoy it well enough. Waterworld is at least a better film than it's usually given credit for. The Postman was bad, though. I saw it in the theater and walked out basically being like, "WTF was that?" I sure hope so! I would be happy to see both Costner and the western genre get a big win here. I hope that the movie is both excellent and a big box office hit, and that he's able to makes Parts 3 and 4, like he wants to. It certainly will not end Adam Driver's career. Even if the movie is terrible, he has too many wins for that. I think that, at the very least, the film will be an "interesting failure." Whether good or bad, it will be a film that is worth seeing once. And some critics seem to genuinely like it, so what we'll probably end up with here is a film that is polarizing and niche, but that gains a loyal fanbase. There are still ACTUAL conspiracies being hatched today as well. Don't be fooled and think that human beings only conspired with one another in the past. Brett Ratner may have gotten a lot of shit as a director but the reality is that he made some good films. Rush Hour, The Family Man and Red Dragon were all solid flicks and should be recognized as such. It's a tolerable action flick but it's unfortunate to see where Renny Harlin is at in his career. How did the man who made Die Hard 2, The Long Kiss Goodnight and Cliffhanger also make this? I watched it about a week ago and enjoyed it quite a bit. It is very silly, but meant to be so. And it was never predictable. It was like a nice piece of cotton candy. I don't really think of donuts as a breakfast item specifically, but Pop-Tarts yes. Probably it has something to do with people associating a sugar rush with a burst of energy in the morning and, in regard to Pop-Tarts specifically, it's an easy item for parents to make for their kids while everyone is rushing around trying to get ready for work and school. Just put them in the toaster, wait a minute, and they're ready. I certainly ate plenty for breakfast growing up. It is not better than Resurrection. In my opinion, Resurrection is most certainly the more enjoyable movie than Alien 3. I'll let others argue over which is "better." But in my estimation, if you found something to appreciate in Alien 3, you should be able to sit through Resurrection. I actually had the same feeling. It was just an old-fashioned period rom-com about men and women falling in love with each other. No weird shit. How refreshing. I have never read the book but I watched the movie last night and enjoyed it quite a bit. The production design and cinematography are amazing, the film is well-cast and features great performances, and Anya Taylor-Joy in particular is delightful in the title role. It made very little at the box office, sadly, but I thought it was a good movie. Hopefully it's picked up a much wider viewership through streaming. I can't agree with you. The first half is a little difficult to get handle on, because the plot is opaque and there are a lot of names thrown around, but it comes together in the back half. I literally laughed and I cried. I found it to be a delightful film with an excellent cast. Anya Taylor-Joy's performance is wonderful and quite charming. I was quite young when this film came out but old enough for my dad to take me to see it in the theater. I walked out having absolutely loved the film and was nearly obsessed with it for a while. Then I didn't watch the film again for probably 30 years or close to it. My overall assessment was that it was a pretty good movie, and it was certainly a landmark film for comic adaptations, but it didn't totally hold up and wasn't quite as good as I remembered it being. How would I have felt about it if I had been an adult in 1989? Who knows. As a kid, though, it was magical. She's certainly pretty hot here: https://celebmafia.com/wp-content/uploads/2019/04/miranda-cosgrove-photoshoot-april-2019-1.jpg
