Ah. I do know that a lot of people like Returns a lot but I am in the camp of people who thought it was too dark and just as much fun as the first film. It does have the amazing scene of Catwoman becoming Catwoman though, which is one of the best scenes in any Batman film. It better be a lot better than Prey. That movie was very disappointing. LOL at it being "the best of the Predator franchise." It should be. There's something that holds the movie back from being an all-out classic, but it's at least good enough, interesting enough and unique enough that it should be remembered and lauded. Conran had a vision and brought it to life and the result is a movie unlike any other. Funny you bring that movie up. I was just thinking about it a couple of days ago. Sky Captain is certainly not a perfect movie, but I really appreciate the vision and ambition behind it. It should've been a hit. 300, on the other hand, I have no interest in ever watching again. Must be. Only thing worth seeing in it is a young Alyssa Milano. I remember thinking it was sort of okay when it was first released, and I was 12-years-old, but rewatching it years later as an adult convinced me that there is nothing of value here. I definitely don't watch the Indiana Jones films for reality. I watch them for escapist fantasy. Reality can check itself at the door. Indy IV and V are basically fan fiction. Neither really understand what made the first three movies great. I have to say that I did NOT like the classroom scene because it showed disrespect to Indy. If you watch the scene in The Last Crusade, every eye is on him. The students are enraptured. But in Dial, the students couldn't give less of a shit. If anything, that scene lays the foundation and sets the tone regarding how they're going to deal with his character for the rest of the movie. It was certainly a financial hit but it's not a movie that really garnered the love of the people. Most people I talk to about it don't like it. This is in contrast to its predecessor, which was is almost universally loved and regarded as a classic. I just watched the trailer. The choice of J-Lo seems fine to me. But the movie itself doesn't look very interesting an all. Just CGI nonsense. LOL. Why forced? She has the right look and she is popular right now. You're right that we cannot prove that the universe was created by an immaterial, eternal Creator who stands outside of creation itself, but considering what we know of the nature of matter, and that there is evidence that points to the universe having a beginning, I do think it is logical to look outside of the universe for its origin. It is, for me, a good enough argument that I can make a leap of faith in the sense of Pascal's Wager, and accept the proposition that God exists even if I can't prove it to be true. It's pretty good. The first will always be the best but I think that, while it may not be as "good" of a movie, Die Hard 2 is properly a more entertaining film than Die Hard with a Vengeance. You know there is that saying, "The book is always better than the movie." Well I think Jurassic Park is a rare example where that's not true. I read the book a few years ago and, while interesting, it didn't have nearly the impact on me that the film did. I would not agree with that. I think it's a true enjoyable-for-all-ages family film. Whether you are 10-years-old or 60, you should enjoy the movie. Yes, quite obviously. And what I am saying is that the direction Spielberg went was better. While Spielberg's film has moments of effective tension and horror, it never goes too far in that direction and those moments are balanced out by moments of wonder as well as comedy. Cameron's take sounds like it would've been a hard-R survival movie and I think that would've been a bad direction to go in. It would be the wrong tone entirely. While I understand personal taste, it feels like with Zendaya Hollywood is trying to market her and push her in a way that is not congruent with the thoughts of a great many people. I know that I am not the first who has said this. "They hate us cuz they ain't us." Yes, you did say that you acknowledge he was raised in America, but in the rest of your post you go on to talk about how it seems absurd to you that he would care about "the American way," since he's an alien. So it seems that you're having difficulties connecting the fact that he was raised in America with his love for the country and its values. But if you can make that connection, perhaps you've answered your own question as to why Superman would fight not only for truth and justice, but also for the American way. How can you not like Brad Pitt?
