On it's own, TLJ might not be all that bad but it's a terrible sequel to the very mediocre TFA and it's a disgrace as a followup to the OT. So I guess if you ignore TFA and the OT completely, and view TLJ as a standalone film, it might work...or maybe not. Not everyone have the luxury of spending as much time on here as you do, pancakes. I look through these pages now and then but only posts sporadically. It neither makes me a troll nor a sock, that's only your old paranoia acting up ;) Frog is the number one fan of Prometheus, pretty much says it all... Yes I believe there will be a new movie between ROTJ and TFA and it will probably use elements from the prequels. Unfortunately I don't think they'll be able to fix that gap in any way that doesn't fell awkward. The series kind of was rebooted, starting with TFA. If we're ever going to learn what happened between ROTJ and TFA, I predict that they'll make new rehashed prequels to fill in the blanks...in an uncomfortable shoehorned kind of way. Yes, exactly. They'll probably rehash the prequels as prequels to the sequel... "Perfectly unpretentious backbone of the board" "I'd love to see Abrams undo the damage Lucas did, and trust he'd offer a believable reason for Anakin turning to the dark side and abandoning the Jedi." Abrams hardly offered any reasons at all for anything in TFA and when he did, it wasn't believable. What makes you think he'd be able to come up with a believable reason for Anakin turning to the dark side when he failed to do exactly that for Ben Solo? "Perfectly unpretentious backbone of the board" I agree that Disney is turning Star Wars into a superhero franchise. While I hate it, it's hardly surprising given the success of superhero movies. It's hard to blame Disney for delivering what they believe people want to see, blame all the people who can't get enough of stupid superheroes. The force is within everyone but hardly anyone is forces sensitive. If you're not force sensitive you can't feel or use the force, no matter how hard you try. The force is stronger in some people and it's apparently something that can be inherited. This is rarely the case though, since Jedis aren't supposed to have kids and that's why they search the galaxy for naturally gifted force sensitives. While mastering the force requires hard work and training it appears ridiculous to me if force sensitives can't pick up a trick or two on their own, without any training. Nothing major like Rey but something like moving a broom... Had Finn seemed more relevant had he stayed with Poe and co? God in Godspeed refers to a specific earthly god and should definitely have been avoided. The force have very little to do with god or faith, it's just a star wars term for magic. I'm also fine with sparkling beverages, as long as they don't specifically call it champagne. So what exactly, according to you, is the plot? How did TLJ advance the story from where TFA ended? Way to go, Nancy Drew. So somebody posted the same hour as me...and you actually take that as evidence for us being the same person? Wow you totally got me there, lol. Too? This is the only account I'm using, pancakes. How about yourself, keeping your feet happy? "perfectly unpretentious backbone of the board" The problem is that the sequels are just reboots of the OT. Ray is now Luke and Luke is Yoda. His backstory is unimportant. Well, I read somewhere that Abrams didn't tell Johnson where he was going with any of the mystery threads. If true it serves him right that Johnson ignored them, as Abrams probably didn't have a clue to begin with. I rather have no mysteries than ones that doesn't go anywhere or doesn't add up. I guess that's why you prefer garbage science fiction like Prometheus... But then again pancakes, you like all body parts and fluids... And where do you suggest a gay man put the embryo so it can develop into a fully grown baby? Yeah, I'm not entirely sure what you think you've observed , but objective you are not. You call everyone who disagrees with you a troll and you believe every other poster to be a sock. Even though I used my real name you called me a sock, that's just paranoid, pancakes. "Perfectly unpretentious backbone of the board" Oh, you mean enough brain cells to invent an infinite capacity flash drive... how's that working out for you pancakes? Maybe if you took a closer look at your own posting history, you'd realize who the real troll is... "Perfectly unpretentious backbone of the board"
