I agree with you here. Every event is tied together and essentially gridlocked into happening. The failures have to occur along with the successes. Amy's character couldn't decide when she saw a flashback/flash forward or what that information would give her. She just had to live it to learn that it even happened or mattered. LOL at the idea of those aliens hunched over a computer typing with their little sucker hands. Come on dude, you can't be serious. I don't think it was all that unrealistic. Different cultures handle perceived danger in different ways. Aliens landing on Earth would be such a huge paradigm shift in what a majority of humans believe that there's no way to really say how people would actually react. ...Huh? So you think an entire population of millions of people only wants to see one genre of movie? Loving the whitesplaining about what black people don't like. Some people might think I'm reading too deep into this, but I think the revenge ending was absolutely necessary for a black audience to walk out of this film enjoying it. For Peele to get this movie made in the first place, with a super mainstream release and marketing that appeals to a diverse audience, this movie absolutely haaad to have a positive ending for the black protagonist. So many horror flicks have come before it where the black dude dies in the first 5 minutes. This movie had a lot greater significance for black people than you'd think on the surface. What was it that clued you in on her? I didn't realize it until the dad mentioned playing bingo and then it was her suggestion for them to "take a walk." Do you decide if you like a movie based on what a small selection of others thought of it?
