Completely agree with you. Joanna Scanlan's portrayal of the heartbroken wife had me feeling I was viewing the real thing (not a movie). The cast, scenes, and dialogue were extraordinary. --Agree that this movie isn't for everyone. Excellent write-up Adam60z. :) If I remember correctly there was an "Ignore this user" option on IMDB, once checked, anything posted via that user name did not appear in my feed. This site is not well known. I often view films that aren't new or are independent -- few of those have discussion threads here, whereas on IMDB even obscure movies had comments. I chortled. Every movie made from 1960 thru 2015 is getting a remake or sequel ad nauseam. Let's appreciate not having to watch <i>Return to Brokeback Mountain </i> and <i>There will be Gore </i> separately. I enjoyed TPotD, but I never watched BM I chortled. Every movie made from 1960 thru 2015 is getting a remake or sequel ad nausem. Let's appreciate not having to watch <i>Return to Brokeback Mountain </i> and TSo you got You should write scripts. Good point. In real life, if there was a place, where people aged rapidly, and thereby drugs could be tested in a day, rather than in decades, many sick people would volunteer to be tested, for the good of mankind. Thereby, families wouldn't have to be tricked into coming and dying. Although it wouldn't be much of a movie, ..If such a place existed, there'd be ill volunteers; entire families wouldn't need to be eradicated. I am a slacker and you caught me. I fast forwarded after she returned to the states. She was crying and appeared to be admitting something. I appreciate you not being mean about it. Thank you. (It's nice to be corrected without the vitriol that often comes with being corrected online). <spoiler>The last 4 minutes indicate Allison killed Lina. I don't know anyone else who has viewed this film, so I kinda wanted to....hear something like, "Dang, that was crazy" or "Wasn't expecting that". :) </spoiler> Agreed. The performances and visuals were good, but the story was quite dull. I prefer a good dialogue to a good action scene, but this was practically unbearable. OK, a fairly large state, averages 52 tornadoes a year. It is very possible in the brief period of this storyline, Osage County did not encounter any. (It is however ranked 3rd place in counties with the highest average). I searched for what else the actress Misty Upham filmed. Sadly found she died of blunt-force injuries to her head and torso on October 5, 2014, a year after the filming. I searched for that clip, yes, their voices sounded similar, and perhaps there is a slight resemblance. However, I don't find MM to be un-feminine. I didn't think she was unfeminine. When she was speaking to Julia Roberts' character toward the end, she was lovely. I agree, Chris Cooper consistently delivers a great performance. Particularly loved his portrayal of July Johnson. Came here to see what others thought. I think she left everything, including David behind. Not petty at all, we come here to read others opinions. <spoiler>Her comments regarding compensation were odd....there is no financial compensation in criminal court.</spoiler> Agreed, EB is wonderful and regardless of HER age, Martha is way too young to be the daughter of a woman born during the Holocaust.
