They actually do have baby showers. http://www.jw-archive.org/post/86927094113/why-do-jehovahs-witnesses-celebrate-baby-showers Well yeah. She's an awful, horrible human being. She knows she's stuck, she knows she majorly effed up by sticking with her husband and his plans, she also knows that *he's* infertile, but she's also a coward, and she's also extremely stubborn and will not admit that she's wrong. At least not until after she loses a finger for reading her beloved Bible. She's also incredibly selfish, and wants to be a mother above anything else. Her warped religious views prevent her from considering any alternatives. She's a very complicated person but she's also terrible. You can see how much she really does love "her" baby, but she's also stubborn to a fault, as she refuses to accept help, and initially refuses to have June return so the baby can eat. You can see her start to come through a little when the Commander is in the hospital, and she seems normal and happy. Then he returns, finds out what she did, and beats her and breaks her again. Not strange at all. Jehovah's Witnesses don't celebrate holidays and birthdays, as they don't consider them "Biblical." It's really not that hard to believe. The men in the religious group find no fault with themselves, so they don't believe that *they* could be the ones with infertility issues. They're deeply misogynistic, so believe that it's a problem with the women being infertile. They're all "sluts" and "whores", and need to be "purified". This is technically surrogacy too, and because of their extreme religious views, they don't believe in scientific reproduction. It wasn't him anymore, it was Charlie. That's why he looked confused. She was "back", so to speak, and was processing it. View all replies >
