This film's rating has now increased from 1.0 to 1.1. People are finally waking up. Time matters because audiences change and this isn't 1939 anymore. Look at shows like Bridgerton and how seamlessly BAME actors have integrated into the story. Representation matters. Question for you in return - Do nose piercings, hair dye and cars have a history of being persecuted, ignored and under-represented? Your point is obtuse and your white fragility is showing. Representation matters. So no. I value the inclusion of persecuted folk in movies and TV. But ya'll not ready for that conversation. 100%? Wow. The entitlement. Why do you keep editing your post? I did not intend to trigger you and you are right in that we don't live in colonizer times anymore. However looking at certain modern day casting, even in today's times, and it's not exactly worlds apart. Representation matters. I agree, art mirrors life and there is a good reason why the villains usually have that skin color. White villains are the key to a progressive society. I would even go as far as to say that every complaint about this, sets society back a few years. The IMDB rating is still stuck on 1.0 as I type this.. the lowest possible rating :-( Unfortunately us ardent fans (and truly woke) of such material seem to be in the minority. I don't find the situation funny at all.
