No, I'm being ornery and playful. You can't say you didn't open yourself up to that.

I happen to know some things about martial arts because I first began to study karate on Okinawa (which btw, was where the discipline originated ) as a teenager. Later, in my 20s, I had a black belt personal instructor in Taekwondoe, so I know about that.

So, for the sake of playing the game, I say#1 is the lie.

No, that is true. Oldenbarnevelt played an important role in the Dutch struggle for independence from Spain. He was also one of the founders of the Dutch East India Company.

He was arrested and tried in 1619. It was a kangaroo court. He was beheaded on May 13, 1619 in the Binnenhof (the seat of the Dutch government) in Den Haag. His last words to the executioner were "Make it short. Make it short."

Later, realizing the tragic mistake, the Dutch placed a memorial plaque on the wall barely 50 yards from where he was executed. They also erected a statue outside the Binnenhof, across the canal. I also visited a museum in Mumbai, India in 2015 which featured a painting of him in one of the galleries.

I'm related to him on my father's side. He is my most famous relative. When I was in the Netherlands in 2014 I visited the Binnenhof where he was executed. I also visited his childhood home in Amersfoort.
