Is there anything you've wanted to do...

but didn't or haven't because you know you'd probably be crap at it?

I always wanted to play the drums, but knew I couldn't keep time.

Ski. I was stationed in Colorado when I was in the Army years ago. I had plenty of chances to go skiing with my friends.I always chickened out because I was sure that I'd be horrible at it. It looked like so much fun. Now? I'm just a big CHICKEN!

reply

I was afraid to ski until I got talked into going with a group of high school friends. We went to a local ski hill and we rented skis. They showed me how to put on the gear and then took me out to the bunny hill. They showed me how to turn, how to stop and how to get on and off the tow rope. Off I went. Even though I hit a tree that night, I LOVED IT! All during high school we skied every chance we got. We'd drive to a small ski resort just across the river in Wisconsin and ski for about five hours and then head home. We did this even on school nights. It was great. Never skied in Colorado though. The biggest mountain I ever skied is the San Francisco Peaks, the Arizona Snowbowl, in Flagstaff.

One lesson that Anthony Robbins, the speaker and life coach, teaches is: "Whether you tell yourself you CAN do something, or tell yourself you CAN'T--YOUR RIGHT! If you tell yourself you can't, that's it. You've closed yourself to the possibility. If you tell yourself you can do it, you've opened yourself up to doing it."

The strongest muscle in the human body is the mind.

reply

True on all counts.

reply

Wrong on all counts ! I previously read it was the muscles of the heart, followed by the muscles surrounding the eye, only to be corrected by the masseter, the muscle in the human jaw.

reply

Was the tree ok?

reply

The tree won that one, so yes, it was FINE!

I like the concept of singing, but I have a terrible voice for it.

reply

Same here. ๐Ÿ˜ž

reply

LOL! I'm terrible too. That dosen't stop me from belting out a song when I feel it in my heart.

reply

My kids used to give me "looks" when I sang in the car.

Climbing without a gear.

I couldโ€™ve been a contender; I couldโ€™ve been somebody...๐Ÿ˜ฌ Iโ€™m sorry I couldnโ€™t help it! Itโ€™s the first thing that popped into my pickled brain!

Yes, water skiing. I tried it once, and was a miserable flop at it.

๐Ÿ˜Ž

reply

How many times did you flop at it?

I lost count.

@MovieMan

Me too...and Iโ€™m from Florida who practically lived at one of our lakes. My dad owned a fish camp. Go figure!

Sorry.

reply

Don't worry about it๐Ÿ˜Š

reply

I have. I did what's known as ' free fall bungee jumping ' off a bridge where there's no barrier to brace your legs up against. Half way down, I was spinning like a top but obviously, I made it. ๐Ÿ˜‰

reply

Interesting.I think the adrenaline was high๐Ÿ˜‰

reply

Yes, an absolute adrenaline rush ! Finally touching terra firma was exquisite !

reply

I made a mistake; it was 'free fall rappelling.'

reply

Did you puke?

reply

The men are strong,they never puke...in public๐Ÿ˜‰

reply

I didn't, not even in private. I basked in the afterglow of the experience.

This week people will be zip-lining across the Mississippi River in Minneapolis. It's in conjunction with the Super Bowl, of course.

The tickets sold out within hours. No, I didn't buy one. It's too damn cold this time of year to do this.
