Everyday sounds you love?

A flagpole clanging in the wind.

reply

The windchimes I have hanging at my bedroom window.

Warm wind through the trees in a wood/forest in the summer.

Waves & out of bombing distance gulls.

reply

I love windchimes. My neighbor has dozens of them in her backyard.

Horses neighing.

reply

Horses softly nickering.

reply

The crack of a wooden baseball bat, followed by cheers from the stands.

reply

Having played and watched baseball all my life I harbor a soft spot for those sounds.

Carousel sounds.

reply

The sound of children on a playground on a tranquil, beautiful spring day.

reply

The approach of the ice cream truck.

reply

Yes! Sad that we don't hear that as often today as we used to.

reply

I still do, quite often since I have a grade school nearby and frequently drive by another one.

reply

I live on a street that's in line with the high school (2 block north) and the junior high (3 blocks south) so I get to see kids walking between the two for afterschool activities. It's nice to see. The sad part is so many of them are carrying their smartphone, wearing their earplugs.

reply

The sound the elevator makes -- not unlike the sound of a microwave after it's done heating your meal -- when it arrives at your floor.

reply

Yes, a sign of the times that can generate some dismay.

reply

My dogs playing in the yard.

Opening a beer.

Tapping on the keyboard when I log into MC.

The alarm going off. Means I'm still alive.

Getting yelled at by GF. Means I'm still loved.

reply

The bubbling sound a water cooler sometimes makes.

reply

Clothes tumble drying.

reply

The dopey music they play in shopping malls and supermarkets.

reply

A garage door opening and closing.

reply

Sound of the timer on the oven going off.
Means dinner's done.

reply

Opening a beer.

Auditory nirvana.

reply

Very well said.

The sound of the coffee maker dripping or better yet percolating.

reply

You know we've always been on that same page. I also mentioned coffee percolating previously, so there also. 😉

reply

That should teach me to read the whole thread before I respond.

At least I'm in great company!

reply

Yeah but who hasn't done that at some time when a thread becomes lengthy? I did myself in this one.

Is that an everyday sound where you live?

reply

[deleted]

Wow. Interesting. If you don't mind saying, what part of the world do you live in?

reply

[deleted]

Well, well, well. I learned something today. I had no idea they're native to parts of the US. Thanks!

reply

[deleted]

Oh, okay. Not a problem. Thanks for clarifying.

reply

The sudden, gentle splash of a fish breaching the surface of the water in the distance during a lazy summer afternoon of fishing.

reply

Love that one.

Shuffling cards.

reply

Bubble wrap popping.

reply

That's a good one too.

How about a sudden awareness of some catchy drumming ?

reply

How do you mean?

The ambient roar of an air conditioner.

reply

I'm a former drummer so a catchy new beat gets my attention.

The sound of the first bite of a fresh, crunchy apple.

reply

[deleted]

A favorite noise growing up I'm sure.

Oscillating fan.

reply

[deleted]

Nice.

Gas station bell.

reply

[deleted]

The high, squeaky sound a doggy makes when it yawns.

reply

The plop of the morning paper on the front porch which just has a dependable familiarity about it.
