I watch most genres, but have never been able to get into super hero moves. I'm afraid to say Scorsese is spot on with this one.

I agree 100%

reply

i agree, they are cheap entertainment not fine art.

I’ve never watched a Marvel movie because they just don’t interest me. I know they are really popular now but so is reality television, which is something else I don’t watch.

I’m in my 40’s and my parents love these Marvel movies which has always been so odd to me. To whoever does like these type of movies: What do you think are the major appealing factors that attract people to them?

reply

I think the major appealing factors are:

-they are entertaining and fun
-they usually have good actors and often a large cast with big name stars
-typically have good visual effects
-lots of action and excitement
-they have interesting characters
-sometimes have good storylines

people are divided Martin.

I would agree with him. It seems to me it would be relatively easy to paste together another superhero movie in the editing room, after all there's so many out there these days to take notes from. Just add a few new quirks to give the moviegoer a little wow. My two cents.

I disagree with what he says but I can understand him. I used to dislike these movies but I changed to loving them last year a little before the Infinity War Craziness.

And i don’t just love Marvel I love DC too.
I think at some point most of us millennials have that stigma about superhero and blockbusters in general and some of us are able to take off that stigma of the genre and some don’t

I used to hate blockbusters in general and when I learned to love superhero movies I learned to love blockbusters in general like Harry Potter, lord of the rings, Star Wars and so many more.

Star Trek didn’t click much with me but I still respect it.

I used to think big blockbusters were just a bunch of special effects and fast action with very little plot which I forgot when the movie ended.

But I learned to appreciate their characters very much, the good blockbusters are more about the characters than the plot in general.
Blockbusters are about us falling for the main characters and get attached to them through the series of films sure there is a good plot but it’s all about endearing characters.

So I repeat I understand how Martin Scorsese feels but I disagree.

To me there is a difference between a “movie adaptation of a comic book character” vs a “comic book movie”.
