What is the best tv theme song of all time?

My vote 1)Mission Impossible

So good it is still used 50 years later.

I was going to post Mission Impossible!

That trilling noise at the beginning is awesome. I wish I knew that that was.

reply

Standard 'flute trill'.

I always thought that using the flute was genius, most men dismiss the instrument as effeminate. In this song it was used to convey percision and stealth.

reply

I never thought of it was a flute!

I get "anxiety" from that noise then the music that starts after is when you spring into action from the anxiety of the situation.

reply

For the movies with Tom Cruise, I believe the sound comes from a skin flute.

reply

Oh, well that certainly hasn't crossed my mind.

I own one of those but it has never made that sound. Tom is lucky!

FAMILY TIES AND/OR THE GREATEST AMERICAN HERO.

reply

The sha la la la ending is a good way to ruin a song lol.

I love the theme song to American hero.

reply

I LOVE THE SHA LA LA LA..GREW UP WITH THAT SHIT.

reply

I was wondering when someone else was going to say GAH! Good call (because it agrees with me).

By far the trippiest..I am more of a Star Trek guy, but the Doctor Who theme is better.

I'll add

Star Trek Voyager - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YJ7zOFn0QYQ&t=0m44s
