If you've just started to live on your own, or are planning to, you buy a few general use knives in a few different sizes, then you figure out what you need after you've made a few meals. People are creatures of habit, so you'll likely figure out what you need after two weeks of cooking.
shareYou need a good full-size knife for slicing stuff, a smaller knife, and a serrated knife. Those will get you through every situation.
