shareOne of my faves, Noble House (TV Mini-Series starring Pierce Brosnan) is an adaption from James Clavell's book, which centers around a fictional Hong Kong trading company, Straun's (loosely based on Jardine Matheson).
In the miniseries, early on, there is a 150th anniversary party of the company which was was founded in 1841, meaning it takes place in 1991. Since the miniseries was broadcast in 1988, that makes it a "future history" story.

Psycho (1998)
Released: December 4, 1998
Takes Place: The opening sequence says "Friday, December the Eleventh 1998"
Fail Safe (1964) -- Based on a novel published in 1962. No dates are given in the movie, but in the novel's preface it's stated that it takes place in 1967.
Seven Days in May (1964) -- Various clues in the movie show it's set a few years in the future, probably 1970.
I hear Seven Days in May is a great film.

shareI think so, I don't know why they released it in the summer. Plus it had to compete with the likes of Jurassic Park so would explain why it didn't do well at the time.
In the UK the film at least got released in October.
Alien Nation, 1988, set in 1991... I'm watching it right now. Fun movie.
