~ Singers who sounded like a member of the opposite sex, when you first heard them

Ed Sheeran - Bad Habits: First hearing this on the radio, I thought it was a woman. (The video starts in a ladies' beauty parlor and he is a vampire. Props for that.) https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=orJSJGHjBLI

Jackson 5 - I'll Be There. I thought Michael Jackson was a girl or woman when I first heard this on the radio. He was still a kid. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W-apaIOOoAo

Post a link to the song, if you think of others.

Up until just a few years ago, every time I heard the song 'Tom Sawyer' by Rush, I thought that it was sung by a woman.

Geddy Lee - Rush

I spent at least 3 years of my childhood thinking Rush had a female singer.

I thought bad habits was a beiber song honestly

I always think that the song Lucky Love by Ace of Base is by Hansen.

Wayne Newton.

His voice sounded so high and sweet when he was young that I assumed all his songs were sung by a woman until I saw his name. In fact, there's speculation that he was born female (or "assigned female at birth"), and well. Here's a picture of the young Newton, and I think it looks more like a butch young woman than a young man.

Seriously, that doesn't sound one bit like an adult male.

Wayne doesn't take kindly to such rumors

I forgot that he's one of a number of celebrities who've had bad plastic surgery.
