Best food combinations ?

For me, it's peanut butter, and apricot jam on white bread. Can't stop eating it.

Let's see other combinations. I might try out some mentions in this thread in the future.

fish and chips

The days of good fish & chips are gone. Used to eat them all the time when I was a teen and a friend worked in H. Salt Esq. F&C. They were the best. I still miss them.

Cheeseburger with bacon-Cheddar-French fries and Beaujolais nouveau

A rare grilled Delmonico steak with peppercorns, with Baked Stuffed Potato Soup, white asparagus and an aged Bordeaux

Sashimi with Sake warmed to 98.4 degrees Celcius. It goes without saying that you must also have Wasabi mustard and Tamari.

Peanut butter (natural), dates and chocolate chips.

Toasted bagel + cream cheese and homemade cherry jam
Crispy french fries dipped in curry ketchup
Roasted figs topped with feta cheese and a drizzle of balsamic vinaigrette
Any fruit pie smothered in creme anglaise

Beluga caviar, almost iced Veuve Cliquot La Grande Damme Champagne, whole wheat toast points, cornichones.

Define “curry.” There are over 3,000 different types of curry. I know there are commercial, packaged vials of “curry powder” available to the hoi poloi. What in in YOUR alleged “curry” ?

To repeat: more than 3,000 curries. Which 1 is yours?

Tomato, basil and mozzarella. Nothing comes close to it.

AKA Caprese salad!

And what? You just shovel the tomato, basil and mozzarella into your mouth? With no delivery system? Realty?

You see, that’s where pizza etc. matters.

reply

Pizza? Are you kidding?

I support free speech, but you clearly went beyond the line. Not even free speech should allow to say that.

You add a bit of balsamic vinegar, a bit of olive oil, and a bit or garlic if you wish (very little), that's all you need.

reply

If “nothing” comes close to to it, then why wouldn’t I choose “nothing?”

What you were probably trying to
say, but could not because of your illiteracy, was “there nothing [else] that comes close.”

But that’s not what you said.

Touché.

Bread and butter, nothing beats simple. Just as good, garlic butter on bread a.k.a garlic bread. Eggs on noodles. Meat and rice. Pineapple on pizza - an abomination to some, a great combo in my book. Chocolate and hazelnuts. Ice cream and caramel sauce. So many others.
