What did you taco salads watch this week (06/26-07/02)

From now on, every time I’ll be out of inspiration I’ll just call you guys by the name of the last meal I ate. Ha! Taco salads!

I am now partime due to some
contract issue with the government of Canada, so only working 12.5 hours/week. Less money, more movies:

Jackass 4.5 (2021 Netflix):”Through outrageous, never-before-seen footage, cut footage and outtakes from "Jackass Forever, witness the making of the Jackass crew's last go at wild stunts”. I haven’t seen their last film yet butt I appreciated peeing some of the craziest stunts accompanied by interviews with the “cast” about their comeback film after a 10 year “break”. I think I can blindly agree with all the reviews saying this was better than the actual movie.I think it’s hownos who mentioned the exaggerated amounts of male penises; I second and third that. This one might be even worse. Bottom line is, I wildly enjoyed the good vibes that were on set. They really gave their best to do the worst! Johnny Knoxville literally almost die skydiving as his parachute almost fell off. After watching this I ordered Jackass Forever DVD. My rating: 7.5/10

Patriot’s day(2016 Netflix): Well made film, overall. Tense and trilling, as it should be. I didn’t like the make-up job on Bacon and Goodman though. It looked like masks. My rating: 7/10

The man from Toronto (2022 Netflix): Random fact: I leave 6 hours away from Toronto. I’ve been there once and it’s beautiful city. As for the film, if you like this kind of action-comedy, if you like the two leads, I don’t see why you wouldn’t enjoy it. Although the first 20 minutes are very dumb, the final product turns out to be exactly what you can expect from it and what it sets out to be. Simple mindless fun. My rating: 6.5/10

The fifth wave (2016 TV): This is like the most “below average” movie if there ever was one. There are some decent special effects, the story is trying hard, the cast too and yet, just never quite come together to form a satisfying cinematic experience. I onlywatched it for Moretz, who I fell in love with as an actress after seeing Kick-ass. Her character was a bit boring. My rating: 5/10

My friend Dahmer (2017 DVD): Solid biopic with a good cast, great atmosphere and interesting story. I just wished I’d seen more crazy shit and less shit “acting” crazy. A little more than an hour into the movie and they still hadn’t up the ante on the psycho stuff. My favorite scene: When he dumps the girl at the ball to go get junk food. My rating: 7.5/10

Scrubs S4: From my notes I was at S6 but since it’s been a 3 year break between me and that show, I restarted at S4, which is an exceptional season overall. This show is funny, sexy, authentic, quirky, well-written and has plenty of unique and amazing characters. I simply can’t say enough good things about it. My rating: 9/10

Seinfeld S1-2: I decided to finally give this a shot so I sometimes put this on while I’m working from home and I can say a few things about it; the cast lacks charisma, the characters are a tad uni-dimensional but the script and overall happy vibe makes up for it. Not hilarious but fun to watch for a simple and feel-good show. My rating: 7/10

Sorry to hear about your job Man, that’s gotta be stressful.
Hang in bro ‘cuz every little thing gonna be alright✊

I love Seinfeld and Jackass and enjoyed The 5th wave, but your observations are sound on it.

If you enjoyed the Dahmer film you might like Joel (18)
It’s about another fairly under the radar loser named Joel Rifkin who was convicted for 9 murders in New York but might have killed twice as many.
It’s a gruesome true story, shot on a limited budget with a mostly unknown cast but it’s creepy and effective.

I finished Stranger Things…Damn do I love this show! Excellent 4 th season.
I sure hope they do another!

I’m currently rewatching all of The Boys on Amazon Prime. It’s a great ‘superhero’ show about very messed up superheroes. Several of them are definitely no ‘heroes.’ The new season is out but it’s been so long I’m giving the earlier seasons a rewatch…It’s great, nasty, brutal, funny stuff.

Stay well bud.

Joel: what an obscur recommendation! I like these. This has very poor reviews but still, wouldn’t be my first time enjoying a movie rated in the 4’s.

I watched the first two seasons of Stranger Things and might continue someday soon.

The boys sounds like something I’d enjoy for sure.

Cheers
