reply

Why you always asking questions but never giving answers?

reply

Data mining.

reply

Data scraping MovieChat has to be like panning for gold in the urinal of a Taco Bell bathroom.

reply

Btw, who do you bank with 😉

reply

Do you REALLY want to know my answer's.

reply

If you find it hard to believe then why would you want to know mine?

reply

Hard to believe what.

reply

Hard to believe that you're such an asshole.

My Dinner with Andre (1981)

Never even heard of it mate.

The others are decent choices.

reply

You should check it out. It's a really unusual film, as it is just two guys having dinner and talking the entire time. I think it is a masterpiece.

reply

IT IS A MASTERPIECE...I HAVE SEN IT MULTIPLE TIMES...IN THE OLD DAYS SURFING CHANNELS IF MY DINNER WITH ANDRE WAS ON...GUARANTEED I WOULD WATCH IT.

reply

I have it on Criterion bluray. Do you have it on dvd or blu ray?

reply

MANNEQUIN (1987)

THE PRINCESS BRIDE (1987)

ROBOCOP (1987)

SPACEBALLS (1987)

PLANES, TRAINS & AUTOMOBILES (1987)

THERE IS A REASON I CONSIDER 1987 TO BE MY SPIRIT ANIMAL.

reply

10 seems a bit more reasonable. 😀

reply

RIGHT?...I INITIALLY HAD 13 MOVIES LISTED...CUTTING IT DOWN WAS EXCRUCIATING.

reply

Exactly!

Looking at your list, I’m thinking I haven’t seen Robocop since the early 90s. I might need to revisit it!

reply

1. Aliens (1986)
2. The Terminator (1984)
3. A Nightmare On Elm Street (1984)
4. Back To The Future (1985)
5. The Princess Bride (1987)

reply

Some of the big ones!

reply

And there are so many more that deserve recognition. My favorite decade for movies by far.

reply

Yes indeed. Late 60s through the late 80s is the sweet spot for me.

reply

Planes, Trains, and Automobiles ('87)
Dirty Dancing ('87)
Witness ('85)
Steel Magnolias ('89)
The Right Stuff ('83)

I'm a bit surprised that no one has mentioned Die Hard yet. Or A Christmas Story.

reply

I've always liked Witness also; have seen it several times.

The child actor (Lukas Hass) who played that cute Amish boy, grew up to portray a real-life serial killer in this movie. https://moviechat.org/tt11656220/Midnight-in-the-Switchgrass. Yeah, it's not that good of a movie, as its rating indicates, but I thought he did an adequate job with the role.

reply

Fantastic film. Possibly my favorite Harrison Ford role.

Haas is one of those people whose face barely changed from childhood. He’s had a long and interesting career, including a great indie neo-noir mystery Brick (2005).

Nathan for You fans will appreciate that he was also in the 1988 film The Wizard of Loneliness.

reply

Yeah, I recognized him immediately in Midnight in the Switchgrass. There was some other obscure film of his I can't remember the title of anymore where I did the same.

reply

DIE HARD WOULD BE IN MY NEXT FIVE...CHRISTMAS STORY IN THE TOP 20.

reply

Ok….. only 5. ☹️

Come and See (1985)
The Thing (1982)
Red Dawn (1984)
The Beyond (1981)
Sleepaway Camp (1983)

reply

You know I’ve seen some shit, but I’ve only seen Come and See once. I know it’s a masterpiece, but I just don’t know if I’ll ever work up the nerve again. :D

reply

It’s an absolute work of art.

reply

Mind-blowing fact that you likely knew: that is the only IMDb credit of the girl actress. She noped out after that.

reply

I just wish I knew the details of how that came about.

reply

1. Empire Strikes Back
2. Raiders Of The Lost Ark
3. Platoon
4. The Terminator
5. Scarface
