Robin Williams - shocked and saddened me.
Sean Connery
Tina Turner
Betty White

reply

Agree with Robin Williams. It was before his time, and when I found out that he committed suicide because of incurable Lewy Body Dementia, I was even sadder.

And for me at least, Anthony Bourdain. I loved his travel shows, and when I found out he'd committed suicide, I was very much saddened. Some of us have to struggle with that dark side, and sometimes the dark wins.

reply

Yeah, Bourdain was a really terribly sad one too.

Some of these people need a bit of help, NO shame in it, take the help for goodness sake.

River Phoenix
Jonathan Brandis
Betty White
Prince
Chris Cornell
Carrie Fisher
Kurt Cobain

Leonard Nimoy - he had a good, long life, but being an autistic misfit I always identified a little with Spock, more than most fictional characters.

River Phoenix - such a huge talent, and he went far too soon

Philip Seymour Hoffman - like Phoenix, one of the great talents of his generation. lived longer, but also gone too soon.

reply

Yeah, Phoenix and Hoffman were really big losses.
I had no idea Hoffman had an issue, he seemed pleasantly square, my kind of guy.

Keep it to booze or weed if you need to get high, that heavy stuff is goddamn Russian Roulette.

reply

Michael Landon was the first one that really saddened me.

reply

Nice to see you around Galactus👍
Yeah, Michael Landon was a sad one, we watched him on Little House On The Prairie when we we were kids.

Then he did that show where he was a guardian angel and he sorted things out, I forget the name but that was a good show too.

reply

Hey man nice to see you still around also. Funny you replied to me here. I had replied a couple hours earlier in your Indy thread. 😂.....

reply

I missed that.
I’m not sure if it’s MC or my stupid phone but my alerts are sometimes wonky.

reply

Michael Landon hit me hard for an unusual reason.
My uncle was suffering from pancreatic cancer at the same time. He was undergoing various treatments. Seemed like every time the doctors recommended one type of treatment, he'd turn on the news and find out Landon had used the same treatment and the reporters would say exactly how low the chances of survival were. When Landon died, he just lost hope and passed a few weeks later.

reply

Oh man that sucks. Sorry.

Dana Plato - had a crush on her
