Adam Sandlers Jack and Jill.

Couldn't finish it.

Hotel New Hampshire

reply

I CAN'T EXPLAIN WHY...BUT I KIND OF LOW KEY LOVE HOTEL NEW HAMPSHIRE...I HAVE SEEN IT A HALF DOZEN TIMES.

reply

I like the book better than the movie. I’ve seen the movie once and thought it was alright.

Dark Fate - because I'm a Terminator junkie and initially I had high hopes for a great movie.

reply

EVERYONE HATES DARK FATE...MY FAMILY REALLY LIKED IT...I SAW T2 IN THEATERS WITH MY MOM AND DAD WHEN IT CAME OUT...OVER THE YEARS I HAVE SEEN AND ENJOYED THE LESSER SEQUELS FOR WHAT THEY ARE...I LOVED DARK FATE THOUGH...I LOANED IT TO MY PARENTS AND THEY DID TOO...ALI ALSO REALLY LIKED IT...CARL MADE HER CRY...IT IS THE PERFECT THIRD PART TO THE TERMINATOR TRILOGY FOR US.

reply

Agree -there are people who like it. I thought it was a travesty, but to each their own.

The story should have ended with Judgement Day.

reply

YES...THAT IS TRUTH...T2 SHOULD HAVE BEEN THE END...BUT THEN WE GOT T3,SALVATION,A TV SHOW,GENYSIS...AM I MISSING ANY LESSER ENTRIES?...SO MUCH JUNK.

reply

Of all the sequels I personally liked Salvation the best because it was about the future war. Admittedly it went off track but I think that is the story line most junkies would like to have seen, if sequels were necessary.

reply

Charlie and the Chocolate Factory (2005)

I know people who like this film, and even prefer it over the original. I don't understand you guys. Not judging, I just don't.

reply

Johnny Depp could never replace Gene Wilder.

reply

He didn't have to, but he could've at least not given the character a nightmarish bent, like who would want to go to a chocolate factory or eat chocolate coming from that creeper? I'm all for giving a film a new spin, but that wasn't it for me.

reply

YOU NAILED IT...THEY TOOK ONE OF THE GREATEST CHILDREN'S FILMS EVER MADE AND TURNED IT INTO A LIVE ACTION SOUTH PARK EPISODE IN ALL THE WORST WAYS...DEPP WAS AWFUL.

reply

Except South Park can actually be decent some of the time, whereas this film wasn't in any way. It's a bad retelling of a story, it's visually ugly, none of the actors are doing anything of note except to haunt the dreams of any children watching it and the chocolate/sweets aren't appetizing. It has no saving grace imo.

reply

THE SIMPLE MAGIC OF GENE WILDER...FOREVER THE HIGH WATER MARK.

reply

Disaster movie. There were A LOT of bad parody movies in the 2000s & this was the absolute worst one of them all imo.

It has no redeeming qualities. It's just a steaming pile of shit.

reply

[deleted]

There are no jokes, man. Not a single fucking one.

It's just a constant barrage of pop culture references.

reply

[deleted]

YEAH....ALL THOSE "PARODY MOVIES" FROM THE 2000'S ARE ALL BUT FORGOTTEN NOW...WHAT A PILE OF SHIT.

reply

I genuinely wish I could forget 'em. I'd pay good money to have them removed from my memory.

I'm not exaggerating, those are some of the worst things I've ever had the displeasure of watching in my entire life.

Even stuff like Samurai Cop & The Room are masterpieces compared to them. Cause with those, they're so bad that they're actually freaking hilarious

reply

I AGREE...I SAW SOME OF THEM...HAVE NOT SEEN ANY OF THEM SINCE...I WOULD IMAGINE HALF OF THEIR "JOKES" ARE EXTREMELY DATED ON TOP OF BEING LAME AT THIS POINT.

reply

The "jokes" are just pop culture references.

Jay from Redlettermedia basically nailed it.

Jack and Jill sucks big time. As does Sandy Wexler.

This year I saw The Gallows (2015) and it will be my pick for this thread.

I could mention a low-budget film no one else has ever seen like One night in October (2017) but that wouldn’t be fair.

Another movie I love to hate is Rock of ages.

reply

I CAN GET BEHIND YOU ON EVERY TITLE...EXCEPT...I KIND OF LIKED SANDY WEXLER...IT WAS WEIRD AND SEEMS TO SWITCH GENRES HALFWAY THROUGH ITS RUNTIME...BUT IT FELT LIKE OLD SCHOOL FUNNY VOICE SANDMAN WITH A MORE MODERN TWIST...I MEAN...I DIDN'T LOVE IT...BUT I DEFINITELY CHEERED A BIT FOR THE CHARACTER.

The Last Jedi/Halloween Ends

Both Luke Skywalker and Michael Myers are legends that got disrespected in their own franchise.

reply

I second this. Two-way tie.

reply

NEITHER ARE GOOD...BOTH ARE UNDERSTANDABLE CHOICES.

reply

I liked The Last Jedi and thought Halloween Kills was decent.

reply

Cats.

Stayed to the end so that I could tell the world how bad it was.

reply

I THINK YOU WIN.

reply

No. I, lost.

But I almost lost big time as it was one of the last three movies I saw before the pandemic and the thought of having it being the last movie I saw in a theatre would have been rough to take.

It went Joker, Cats and Jumanji 2 - it could have been so much worse.

reply

I liked Cats. I saw it at the theatre on Christmas Day and have the blu ray.

reply

I think less of you now. : P

reply

That movie looked cringey.
