Films you'll probably never see!

Barbie

The Da Vinci Code and V for Vendetta.

I wanted to see them when they came out, but since then my taste has changed.

reply

I really enjoyed the Da Vinci Code but I'm not sure I'd watch it again.

I saw both. What a waste of time, although "V For Vendetta" had a theme I thought would be interesting, and I was on a 12-hour plane ride, so I welcomed it, and it still wasn't good.

reply

Waste of time. If I watch a movie over 120 minutes long, it'd better be good.

Star Wars, Barbie, Oppenheimer, any biopic, any re-make, musical
James Bond..
And probably every movie in the last few years. I can't think of a single movie made in the last 40 years that interests me. I usually see what I have on my DVR, recommendations on message boards, and my IMDB watch-list.

There seem to have been lots of remakes recently and it's genuinely hard to understand why it's necessary. Like why another Willy Wonka film?
I'm not into Bond either and I probably won't see Oppenheimer.

Money. They know they have a higher probability because it worked before. Some algorithm, I'm sure.

YouTube has a ton of free movies available which one can watch at the leisure of their home with no one talking, and if you have to pause for a second, you can... I don't know anyone who goes to the theater, and even my movie friends say they can't focus on movies nowadays. I tell them it's probably a malady of theirs (allowing technology to rule their life) but also the quality of movie. If I see something enticing within the first few minutes, I'm in all the way.

I forgot to mention all those comics, marvel stuff... My brother liked that from the age of 7 to the age of 9. But they know a kid can't go the movies alone, so they add up their parents and probably think, "Up to 300%"

Just thought of another one.
Scream

the first one is fine

Why is having a narrow viewing filmography seen as a virtue? Reminds me of my grandfather who "wouldn't eat that foreign muck" just meant he missed out on a lot of great food.

reply

Whoever said it was a virtue?

Barbagay.
