What's your experience with god?

I experienced power of god through accident and yes some intelligence is running this universe.

What's your story?

reply

i was reading a book about a friend of anne frank and her experiences in a concentration camp. no god would allow that to happen.

reply

What is a god allowed to happen or not allowed to happen?

reply

let's start with childhood leukemia.

reply

Is this something that We should expect a god to not allow to exist and are upset that this issue has not been corrected?

reply

you think we need more of this?

reply

No, I don't think we do. But I'm only speaking from a pov the opposite of an omniscient being. We don't care what this being's frame of 'mind' or decision-making is, we don't care about this being's existence unless we get what we want.

We don't want childhood leukemia, but it exists, thus we choose, a 'god' doesn't exist. Now we ask ourselves, for a god to exist what do we humans demand should and shouldn't be allowed? And if we are able to answer such a question and implement it, are we not god?

... Pay no attention to me today. I'm not making much sense and am not feeling too well. I'm more or less rambling without a personal argument to make or counter. bah, sorry.

EDIT: essentially, it comes down to the 'Hierarchical Responsibilities of Others' *(e.g., god) vs the 'Other's Expectations of god(s)'

*upper-level management.

reply

no the issue is how can god be all loving and all powerful. and yet create that.

also i need evidence for god to listen to any of this fan fiction of why god does what he does. we gotta start at evidence he even exists first

reply

Because God is not an all-loving teddy bear, like people want him to be. God is righteous and just. With justice, comes punishment.

reply

sending a mass murdering pedophile to heaven because he believes in Jesus, but sending a moral, loving atheist who helped thousands to hell because he didn't believe is not righteous or just or justice.

and sorry what is fair and just about childhood cancer.? religion has really dehumanized you hasn't it?

nor is the idea of infinite torture and punishment for finite crimes.

Nor is flooding the world and killing millions of kids.

no god is whatever you subjectively decide to cherry pick from the bible that he is. its why theres so many sects. you cant get one narrative of your fairy tale straight.

so as i said,. got any strong convincing evidence he exists?

reply

Religion, giving people hope in a world torn apart by Religion.

reply

He gives me comfort... but I personally don't believe he intervenes. I'm more a deist in that regard.

reply

None; I went to Sunday School and was blessed by a priest, but in my adulthood I consider Buddhism.

reply

Exactly the same as anyone & everyone else's, though folks will disagree about that.

In my view, when we speak or think of God, we are thinking of a concept, rather than the thing, or if you prefer meta-thing, itself.

reply

I’ve been heard.
