Slasher or supernatural horror?

I'm a high kill count guy, so it's gotta be slasher for me.

reply

I like both, but I would give the slight edge to slashers.

reply

Because of boobies?

reply

No, slashers just tend to be more entertaining and better quality films overall. I don't mind boobies though.

reply

I find supernatural to be less scary because it's not as realistic as a slasher.

reply

Supernatural.

Or, best of all, mostly psychological with eerie, is-it-or-isn't-it supernatural vibe.

reply

Have you seen Men? I have about 20 mins to finish it tonight but it fits your description well.

Actually I saw 2 more movies this week that fits:

The forgotten and Knock at the cabin

reply

Alex Garland's Men? Yes. I quite liked it. Not a mind-blower, but wholly acceptable. Seems to have been quite a divisive film, which I didn't really understand...

... and, yup, certainly fits the description. That's the kind of horror I prefer: creepy, slow-building, 'IS IT IN HER MIND?'... rather than outright trying to horrify... although I do enjoy some good, old-fashioned, oozy over-the-top gore too.

reply

I think (until now) Men is a fantastic movie and it looks superb. Love the green sceneries.

I’m sure I’ll rate it higher than most unless something really bad happens in the end.

We have similar tastes in films. You should try and join us on a Friday or Saturday night. Interested?

reply

I prefer psychological over supernatural. Supernatural feels limited to me.

reply

More or less the same, I think. I think all my very favourite horrors would be described as 'psychological' above anything else. Repulsion, stuff like that.

But I'm quite fond of supernatural too.

reply

I like Repulsion but I'm quite fond of Jacob's Ladder as well.

WHICHEVER OFFERS THE MOST OPPURTUNITIES FOR FIGHTING BACK.

reply

You can't really fight spirits. You just pull out a book and read it.

reply

Supernatural.

reply

Supernatural

reply

Supernatural, easily. I like a few slashers but I'm not really a huge fan of 'em in general.

reply

^^^Exactly this!

reply

Supernatural Horror all the way.. I just finished watching "SALEM'S LOT" and now, I'm going to watch John Carpenter's PRINCE OF DARKNESS again. Yesterday, I watched The OMEN(1976)

reply

Great horror movies! These movies have atmosphere and tension. Something sorly lacking in most horror movies today.

reply

I take it Salem's Lot was the 1979 version? Creepiest vampire movie ever made.

reply

Yes, the 1979 version will always be the best SALEM'S LOT over that Rob Lowe bullshit

reply

👍

reply

I'm going to watch John Carpenter's PRINCE OF DARKNESS again

The radiologist with the glasses...

reply

The radiologist with the glasses was good looking.. She died too easily along with the Asian woman

reply

That's ridiculous! That's caca!

reply

I'm telling ya.. The group picked her and her colleague up and dumped them out of a window into the alley and that was it for them, just like that.. Hell, even Alice Cooper outlived them all

reply

😂😂😂

reply

The Fog & Exorcist were great examples of supernatural horror.

reply

The Fog (original, of course!) is a good candidate for my all-time favourite horror movie.

reply

Are you planning to watch the new Exorcist movie?

reply

Nope, and I meant the 1980 & 1973 versions in my post..
