I sometimes stick one in a card along with another gift. If I give a numbers ticket, then I play that number for myself too. That way if we win, they don’t have to feel guilty about sharing or not sharing the proceeds.

Worst gift - a food I don’t like.

As a kid I hated getting clothes, it seemed my grandmother thought because it was Xmas that any day to day items could be wrapped and given as a gift. It always sucked to see all those packages and then unwrapping one after the other and finding boring clothes.

Gift vouchers can also be a bad gift as sometimes the store closes down which is what happened to a friend of mine who received a gift voucher for a book store. It was under liquidation when she went to use it and was told they would only honor 25 per cent of each dollar. She walked away in disgust without buying anything. Vouchers also expire.

Any gift which requires the person to buy something else to use it or requires them to attend a class. "Got you a voucher for that the cooking/art/writing class you keep talking about!" Ah yeah thanks, lost interest, don't like leaving my house..
