Tell something unusual about yourself.

I use kleenex as napkins. I'm not sure when it started, but for the last few years or so I order the 24 box of tissues from Amazon, and use them as napkins.

I have a very noticeable freckle on my foreskin. I'm not sure how common that is but it seems like it might be a rare thing.

reply

when I go skiing I do it without poles

reply

Unless you’re skiing in Poland, I don’t think this is all that unusual

reply

It actually is very unusual. Usually when I go to a ski resort I don't see any other skiers without poles.

reply

Do you use short skis? Typically if I see someone skiing without poles they are on short skis.

reply

I use long skis. How often do you see someone using long skis without poles?

reply

Haven't been to the slopes in quite a while so I would say never.

reply

That's a recurring dream of mine. Showing up to the mountain and realizing I forgot my poles.

reply

Is it weird that I don't have the usual phobias such as fear of closed spaces, heights, snakes, or spiders?

reply

I do not think so.

reply

I keep running into people who have those, and I don't know what they're talking about.

Yeah, I'm not a fan of tight spaces myself, but I've been able to handle things like a cramped bunk bed sunken in a wall, submarines, airplanes, being stuck between 2 semi trucks on the highway, etc.

Heights don't bother me, in fact, they almost feel unreal to me. More than once I've been somewhere high off the ground, and I look down below, and it feels like looking at a painting or something. I never think about how I could fall a long way to the ground and die.

Snakes have never bothered me, and I've held several. Their scales have an interesting texture. They're just animals to me, though I get annoyed when they're always thrusting their heads forward and I'm trying to get to know them.

I'm mostly not bothered by spiders so long as they stay away from my room and out of sight. I go out of my way to keep the cobwebs in our house at bay with feather dusters, I have a "spider stick" for the same job outdoors, and I make sure no spiders are visible in our house. If they are doing their job and keeping pest insects at bay, then more power to them.

I do have a healthy respect for black widows and brown recluses, so I always go out of my way to get rid of those. But most spiders are harmless, despite their weird appearance.

reply

" being stuck between 2 semi trucks on the highway '? 😲 Nice to know that everything is fine with you.
There are better feelings than to be in a very closed space but for a while it is "fine " for me.

I have not phobia of snakes or spiders, although they are not my favourite animals.
Heights do not bother me a lot either as far as I know that I am in a safe place.

reply

Well, I'll explain the truck thing.

A few years ago, I was going to a community college, and had to use two different highways to get there from my house. One of them had heavier traffic than the other and had four lanes. A few times, when driving home from class, I was on that 4-lane highway, and on either side of me, were semi trucks, and having them almost boxing me in like that made me a little nervous. I mean, it wouldn't take much to squish me and my 4-door if either of them had an accident.

Thankfully we were all responsible drivers, so nothing bad happened, not even after a rainstorm (which can be hazardous for driving in CA).

reply

Thank you for your explanation. English is not my mother tongue so I understood something a little bit different 😉😎.
Anyway, it is pretty annoying when you have semi trucks around on the highway and they "force" you to drive faster (I do not know if that also happens in California).

reply

Oh no, we have mean people like that here in the States too. They deliberately use their big trucks (not always semis) to try and intimidate you by driving up close to your bumper, but I ignore them. I have an aversion to ticket fines and losing my life on the road, whereas some people think it's their God-given right to drive 30-40 miles above the speed limit. They get mad when I don't play their little game, and they go around me.

I had a feeling I knew what you were talking about. I watched that Mythbusters episode too; the one with the little European car squished like a pancake between two semis. It wasn't quite like that, hehehehe.

reply

"I do not play their little game " 😎👍.
In this area there is a lot of truck traffic on the highway but, in order to be fair, the most of the truck drivers are well-behaved, just some of them think that there are the king of the road and do things as above mentioned.

reply

Not that unusual, but I like eating hot foods during hot seasons and cold foods during cold seasons, like hot soup in summer and ice cream in winter. Couldn't tell you why.

reply

Anytime is a good time for ice cream! 🍨

reply

Couldn't agree more.

I like to blank out the French on my DVDs and blu-ray label spines.

The Battle of the Plains of Abraham wasn't for nothin'.

When I get really nervous and/or stressed out, I bite the back of my left hand. I'm not sure when it started (I didn't do it in high school or college) and I don't even realize I'm doing it at first, but it's something I definitely do and I can't seem to stop doing it.

Do you have any hot Italian blood?
:)

reply

I love it! 😃 No Italian blood in me, as far as I know....mostly Welsh, English, and German blood. They don't come much whiter than me! 😃

reply

I've been known to do this when the kleenex is closer than a napkin. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

reply

I eat peanut butter and cheese-whiz toasts.

When take a walk during winter I like to grab a piece of ice on the curb and kick it as I walk until it fully disintegrate. I mention it because I did it like 10 times already this year.

I can take sips right off the maple syrup bottle.

When I pour a glass of water I count down from 10.

When I pour a glass of water I count down from 10.

Why?

reply

It seems more unconscious than anything. My brain does it by itself but my take on it would be that I drink many many glasses of water per day and I’m also impatient so it makes the 10 secs it take to pour the glass pass faster. Also, it’s satisfying when the glass is perfectly full when I hit 0.

Also, I’m a little bit crazy in my head.

reply

Okay, water is good.
