Didn't know 2 at all. 1 & 3 were very nice people with different ideas about how to moderate this site. AFAIK they all left of their own accord. We also had a Mod6 once, who was great but she decided to return to civilian life.

Overzealous mods can kill a site. MovieChat had a rep in the past for hairtrigger bans. I'm glad that's changed. You and Mod4 do a great job.

AGREED...THE ONLY ISSUES I EVER HAVE WITH 4 & 5 I GET OVER OR REAIZE THEY ARE RIGHT....I WAS AND WAS ALMOST AGAIN ONE OF THOSE BANS BACK IN THE DAY.

Yeah, Tara makes a goodpoint. It would be manipulated.

I hate any automated reporting system. It reminds me of IMDb where any post, no matter how benign, would be automatically deleted if enough socks reported it.

Please assume for the purpose of this exercise that the implementation doesn't suck and it can be secured from such manipulation. (It can.) Do you have a view of that kind of feedback mechanism in the context of this site?

I like the system now where we can communicate directly with the Mods. I see no benefit. If a majority don't like a post, oh well, I prefer free speech and the right of unpopular opinions to be heard. Less moderation is better. If there's something over the line, a responsible Mod can delete it. That's why we have Mods. I don't trust the majotity to always do what's right.

mod 3 was terrible, and played favorites to people that shared her sensibilities rather than be objective. That's the only mod here I have ever had issue with.

3 was a female and yes she has been gone for nearly 4 years.
I liked her though, we got along well.

We have 4 and 5 now, 5 is way more active but neither is a trouble starter. The Moderation here has been reasonable and professional for many years, the Mods seem to value free speech and put up with a lot of nonsense for no pay.

Not sure but did you know there was a Mod9 who died? It was shocking and tragic, apparently Mod7 ate 9.
