Why do people bring crying babies to movies at the theater?

I went to see “Gone with the Wind” tonight at a local theater and someone in the audience had a crying baby that you could easily hear over the dialogue. It just seems like an odd thing to do.

reply

Maybe the baby really wanted to see Gone With the Wind? Have you ever thought of that?

reply

Lol

reply

Well the baby didn’t seem to be paying attention to the movie. :-)

reply

Obviously, that baby doesn't appreciate classic cinema. Stupid baby.

reply

"stupid baby."

I chuckled loudly at this comment:)

SNACK?

reply

Couldn't find a reliable babysitter??

reply

Breeders. [gay eyes]

reply

You can breed too.

reply

That's not my job though. Leave it to the professionals.

reply

What if it wasn’t their baby 😳

reply

What if there was no baby?

reply

What if there was no cinema?

reply

What if there was no mikethemartian?

reply

What if everything is just a simulation?

reply

What if everything stimulated me?

reply

Doesn’t it?

reply

Doesn’t it?

I see the word "tit".

reply

Do you feel a right tit?

reply

No, I feel a left one.

reply

That’s all right then.

reply

You saw the director's cut. They added baby noises. An odd choice, but it's definitely something that would get people talking.

reply

The first time I heard the baby crying was during one of the scenes with the wounded and dying soldiers and I was wondering if they had wounded civilians as well.

reply

I took my little cousin to see Toy Story 2 in the theatre. There were obviously a bunch of kids there, but I'm vowed to never see a kids movie in the theatre again. It's not even the kids making noise that bothers me, it's the parents not doing anything about it.

reply

Cause parents with newborn babies are losing their minds and they ain't thinking straight no more about anything. These people don't sleep anymore. They desperately want a dose of normalcy and they ain't gonna get it.

reply

Babysitters are expensive and not always available.

I don't like the idea either but people raising kids are raising the future, so I guess cut them some slack.

Where I live they used to have days with screening times just for parents with kids - that is/was a cool idea.

reply

They still have that here, as well as sensory friendly films where the lights don't go all the way out and talking is fine. One of my cousins works with autistic clients and she takes them to those movies.
