Interesting Individuals Personalities in Music?

There are so many, so I'll try to name some that are not TOO popular (for now)... Interview form, etc..

Jaco Pastorious

Sorry if he is popular but Bruce Dickinson of Iron Maiden is a really interesting rock frontman. He has a commercial jet pilot license and flew Iron Maiden all around the world back in 08 for a massive tour, it was documented in a cool movie called Iron Maiden: Flight 666 and if you love Maiden it’s a must see.

He’s also an author, an entrepreneur
and an accomplished international competition fencer.

Also, imo one of Metal’s greatest frontmen ever.

reply

He was also ranked 7th in Great Britain for fencing (oops just read the last bit of your post).

We should do a greatest Rock frontman post soon but I have to cut the grass now. Remind me to do this as I am forgetful lol😄

reply

reminder :)

reply

Someone already did "Greatest Frontman" thread a few months ago.

reply

Oh, I forgot. Thanks.

I saw Iron Maiden in 1980 when they opened for Scorpions. Iron Maiden was fantastic! I have tickets to see Iron Maiden in Salt Lake City in October and I can't wait. 🤘🏻

reply

I’ve seen them a few times, the last time was last year at the O2 in London. They were awesome and always put on a great show.

Andy, just wanted to update u. I saw Hank Jr a couple of weeks ago and I think it’s possible he’s starting to show his age. It was a sold out packed arena and he just wasn’t into it. Really short concert also.

I’m going to see Praga Kahn and Lords of Acid Monday night. 😀

reply

I’m sorry to hear Hank Jr was a bit disappointing. It’s never good when a gig is memorable for the wrong reasons.

Hopefully, the one tonight will make up for it 🤘🎸

reply

Lords of acid was fantastic. Really great show and the crowd was really into it.

reply

🤘🤘🤘🎸🎸🎸

reply

Have you ever seen them live? It was honestly the craziest show I’ve ever been to.

reply

No, but I’ll keep an eye out for them in future.

reply

I must be picking some odd ball concerts if you’ve never seen them. 😀

Bowie

Morrissey for right wing nuttery.

Probably GG Alin. He was disgusting but different.

Ozzie seems like he's always in a prescription opioid haze.

reply

Bowie is one I had in mind.

reply

Frank Zappa

The guy was brilliant.

Not only that, he's one of the few of his era that didn't take drugs.

He kept his mind sharp. Even when his body went (cancer I believe) - he was still an interesting interview.

reply

I had a handful in mind, and Zappa was up there.. I liked some of his music, but I loved ALL his interviews. Strong personality.

reply

Popular, but not common.. Jim Morrison and John Lennon. I could watch all their interviews.. Both very funny guys, too, and I can't even say that about most "professional comedians"

Tony Iommi

1) Jorma Kaukonen (I could have mentioned anyone in Jefferson Airplane, but I've met him).

2) Joe Walsh (Lived the R & R lifestyle when he was younger, but seems to have mellowed as he's gotten older). He's had a tough life in a lot of ways (One of his daughters died in a car accident, drug/alcohol addiction, etc.). He always gives great interviews, though. Great guitar player and musician.

3) Eric Clapton

WARREN ZEVON.
