It's strange, I criticize his performances a lot, but there a lot of times I'll watch a movie that he's not in and think, "John Cusack would be a better fit in this movie than this guy". 7/10

He is almost like a lesser Tom Cruise.
Not the best actor, but always stars in interesting movies.

5/10 Average at best. He can carry a few film successfully but honestly John is a glorified character actor. He's pretty good at it when he can find movie roles that are more on his unique level.

I think he's better than a character actor, he just knows how to pick his spots. He knows he's not capable of Shakespeare.
