Always wondered about his failed career

He had everything. The looks, teen idol status, made few good movies in his twenties. Some of them are even classics. Like I Know What You Did Last Summer and Cruel Intentions. Got lucky to even be in ensemble in few Awardsy movies like Crash, Flags of Our Fathers, Gosford Park. Crash even won best picture at the Oscars. Was husband of A-list actress Reese Witherspoon and showed up in press and awards shows.

But then nothing. His career never went anywhere. He was doint like 1 movie a year. And some of them are very mundane and forgettable. And its not like he is a bad actor. He has charisma and can look good. But never turned that into anything.

I used to wait for him to be in big stuff and famous movies. Even in supporting roles. But nothing. He is 48, still got the looks but basically does low budget "movies direct to streaming" for years now.

I used to think that maybe he was waiting for big roles in blockbuster movies and didnt took smaller ones. But it looks like no one called even for smaller movies. So he just spend his youth doing nothing. And eventually agreed to take low budget forgettable movies to do something. Maybe money dried out. Like he was rich with Reese money and didnt have to make 5 movies a year.

He did that Shooter (TV series) that ran for 3 season and was on prime time tv. At least he was in the press again and steady working. Then was few episodes in Big Sky. Which was sad as he should have been main character.

I feel like he should find himself better agent. He should search roles in big tv shows like Whitcher, Game of Thrones, Stranger Things, even some Rings of Power. Or those Marvel tv shows. To be relevant and talked about.
