Piper Laurie has passed away aged 91.

Her most memorable movie roles imo are her moving performance in The Hustler and her mother from hell in Carrie. She also had a notable role in Twin Peaks.

Just a few days ago I rewatched the Frasier episode in which Laurie plays the mother of Christine Baranski’s radio shrink. Laurie is only in the final scene, but she is hilarious in the episode. A fine actress indeed. R.I.P.

I rewatched Carrie last sunday, Piper Laurie was superb in it.

She was one of the great. No one has played a troubled, depressed person better than Laurie did in the Hustler.

She really was a dynamic duo with Sissy Spacek in Carrie. RIP.
