Walking around with a baby hanging off her, boobs hanging out, almost dropped the baby, drove with it on her lap.

When Matt Lauer interviewed her and kept calling her a "bad mom" she had her boobs hanging out. WTF? Meant to be a serious interview!

She looked like a 40 year old in a bar trying to get attention with her tits.

The correct career move after her early success would be to cover up, look classy, follow the high life lifestyle that people like Paris Hilton sold and made a living off of.

She was reverting to herself. She was from a poor white trash family who practically lived on the edge of a swamp. The music industry had her made over in the late 1990's and early 2000's to look glamorous. She got the best stylists, makeup artists,personal trainers. They fixed her teeth, gave her accent reduction to lose the southern accent and media training (how to talk to the press).

Her entire image and appearance was constructed. When she got with Kevin she tore it all down. Who knows what he brought out in her for her to revert?

Her family was more middle class than poor white trash. However, much of what you stated has merit.

Actually her Dad was near bankrupt shortly before she got signed (watch the Britney documentary). Their community was notoriously rural poor. When she made some money she handed money out to members of the local trailer park and slum houses in order to help the people out. She didn't come from white bread, affluent American suburbia. She came from a southern American slum area. But.. the management team made her over to look, talk and dress like she was from the suburbs of upper middle America. She kept up the act for a while, then transformed into a sexpot performer who was reaching to become another Madonna.

But then... she got with Keven Federline and everything changed. Not only did he bring her back to her white trash roots but he also seemingly stole her ambition at becoming a megastar (on level with Madonna). Notice how she realesed no music until they were divorced? lol.

She did have a phase in the mid-2000s where she was trashy. She’d appear on the news for all kinds of stuff.

But I think she recovered from that phase, no? Today, her name doesn’t carry the same shame as it once did.
