Upcoming book "The Woman in Me"

Sometimes you see people like her and you realize what might have happened to people like Elvis and Janis Joplin if they didn't check out early.

reply

John Lennon as well. In addition to Amy Winehouse.

reply

I mean, Elvis died at 42 and Spears is 41, so not the best example. What happened to Elvis/MJ could be in her future, though - early deaths, but not super early like Joplin/Hendrix/Cobain/etc.

I certainly wouldn't remotely put her in the same category as these people though in terms of talent.

reply

My sympathies to the ghostwriter, trying to make something coherent out of her ramblings.

reply

Hahahaha ☺...couldn't help but think of Prince Harry. 👑

reply

Oh Christ, I read the mess that was Harry's book!

I don't think I'll be able to do the same for Britney's, although her story is far more interesting and relevant to my life. And no, that doesn't mean I'm struggling with a disabling mental illness, it means I'm the one person on the internet who tries to explain the basics of conservatorship law to a sea of ignoramuses who don't care what the law says, because they've all got axes to grind. My job requires me to know the basics of conservatorship law, which makes me the only one commenting on her who does.

reply

You trudged through the more than 500 pages of Harry's royal whining?!
You deserve a bravery medal. 🤣

Joking aside, yes, some internet discussions appear like the well-known scenes in which a lynch mob with torches and forks wants to hang the (supposedly) culprit from the nearest tree. 🎣

My reasons for wanting to read that "Spare" mess were complicated, and I did skip some of the more disturbing stuff about his killing people in the army, but I did get years of snark material out of my free library copy! Because I am NOT giving that twat any of my money.

But yeah, joining the internet commentary on Britney's conservatorship has been a depressing experience. Because every commentator but me felt free to yell about the conservatorship, while knowing nothing about the subject and having no interest in learning. And I expect Britney's book will be sadly similar, as she's neither bright nor stable, but she isn't someone I can snark at.

reply

Now start to feel sorry for Britney Spears too, though I'm a bit biased.
For one, I just don't like her kind of music (not her fault!). And then her yammer song "Lucky" almost drove me crazy back then. It was #1 in the charts here for several weeks. Always she wailed at you, when you turned the radio on. ☻
Only the Smurf Song (by another artist) was worse. ☻☻
But never had the idea to "snark" at her.
Rather wanted to shoot the radio host. 👿

Yes, you're right..."she's neither bright nor stable".
Her book will certainly become a "Pecking Party" for the yellow press and in the following the internet community. Recently learnt this expression from another MC board.

reply

Well, that's the thing about Prince Harry, he's such a spoiled, selfish, useless, snotty, deluded idiot manchild that I feel no guilt at pecking at him!

Spears is another story, she's had some horrific real-life difficulties, including a dreadful family and a nasty case of bipolar disorder. And I don't have a lot of confidence that she has the capacity to deal with her challenges.

reply

Yep, my compassion with Prince Harry is very low too.
Though he may not be as stable as he appears.
Harry is 'under the influence', in his case under the influence of Meghan.
That would be fine if Meghan meant well for him and his family.
But she doesn't. ☻

However, what can we do to help?
Britney Spears may head soon (again) for a similar fate like Amy Winehouse. While I was neither a Winehouse nor a Spears fan, this public demise is just terrible.
Hmmm, pecking on the bullies?
Usually doesn't help much and easily turns oneself into their category. *ahem*
And you already had your fair share of discussions, apparently didn't change much either...or did it?

reply

Don't blame Meghan for Harry's assholery. She didn't drag him away from the royal family, he had wanted out for years and years, she's the one who is trying to support him in royal style, while he does shit nothing! Okay, she's not a nice person, but Harry was an asshole and a mess long before he met her.

As for Britney Spears... I am not confident about her future. Bipolar disorder is a terrible disease and can be a huge challenge for people who understand everything about the disease and treatment, and Spears is by all accounts uneducated, unsophisticated, and not the brightest bunny. And I don't know that she has anyone she can rely on to help her deal with it; she's estranged from her family for excellent reasons, her lates gold-digger is out of there, and she's had such bad experiences with doctors that she may not trust any of them. So while bipolar disorder isn't a valid legal reason to put someone under conservatorship, it can still ruin a person's life.

reply

So she comes out as lesbian?
