In fairness, if hearing a song on TV leads someone on to a huge voyage of discovery; uncovering old bands and artists, then that’s a good thing, right?

Sure. I'm just wary of people who are so absorbed in tv that they never explore music for its own sake. I think that is the OP's point. And like I said, I'm not sure it's an age issue. Young folks tend to explore more music and seek out new interesting bands more than older people.

I don't care either, but when they claim they discovered an artist who is already well known, it's like they want credit. Imagine I was like, "hey I'm just getting into this band. Have you ever heard of AC/DC?" I'd want you to smack me on the head.

I don't blame young people, though. They behave exactly the way their elders raised them to behave. So, if mom and dad put a cellphone into their child's hands when the child was four years old, it's no wonder the child is devoid of any significant, independent thinking habits.

this is so true. like it, or approve it or not, this is simply the evolution mankind makes. good or bad, it will be what it will be. could we stop it? maybe, but doesn't look like anyone wants to bother, so no reason to fret over it. :)

they won't know they are idiots, and everyone will be like that, therefore, it makes no difference in the grand scheme.

After 1982's amazing experimental album, "The Dreaming", this one seemed so tame and commercial. Never liked the whole "Hounds of Love" album. Compared to her earlier stuff it's a typical 1980s sellout album.

I honestly never payed attention to her before. I just wasn't into her music but I did enjoy the song during that scene with Max. I even listened to it once on the radio shortly after that episode. But then, it was on every single time I turned on the radio. Ugh, over-played to death!

I never liked Stranger Things anyway. I only jumped on the bandwagon as it was a nostalgia horror show with a child cast, like Andy Muschietti's IT that also came out in 2017, and Finn Wolfhard was on both.

Ever since then, I've lost interest, especially as the kids are no longer kids but teens.

You’re right, it’s not creepy. Kids growing up changes the dynamic of shows. e.g. when Home Improvement first aired, the Taylor boys were kids aged around 6–10. The show suffered a lot when they grew up to be teenagers.

Yeah, as a teenager in the 80’s I got into Blues , Soul and R’n’B , mainly from watching The Blues Brothers. However, being a white teen born in the UK in 1969, I rapidly discovered I wasn’t a black slave from the deep South of 18th C America so I began to despise myself, and would spit at my own reflection in shop windows.

It's better for them this way.

When they are trained to only do and think how the hive mind tells them, their transitsion to AI running their lives will be faster and simpler.
Less opposition from humanity, easier adoption.
