Is Page's transition upsetting people? If yes, why?

I dislike trans ideology as much as anybody else, because it seems to make things worse for everybody, including trans people themselves.

But what exactly is it about Page's transition that makes people feel compelled to criticize him/her like s/he did something wrong? Is Page encouraging others to transition too? Invading other people's rights, just like Lia Thomas? Preaching trans ideology to others, and dismissing critics as transphobic? Forcing other people to obey the norms of trans people just to prove they are not transphobic?

Or is Page otherwise just minding his/her own business, and really not bothering anybody else?

reply

It's like watching a trainwreck and people feel like it's gonna end badly.

It's vanity mixed with self hate and I think people feel bad for him*.

Of course it's his life and it wouldn't be any of our business except he's a public figure and can shape opinion.

Maybe the fear of cisexuals is that he will influence adolescents to make a mistake and undergo self mutilation as well.

*I had to go back and edit all my pronouns by the way before posting.

reply

yeah, and most of us prefer to NOT watch train wrecks, front and center. people need to just do their thing, quietly, and move on with life.

but we have this celebrity shit shoved in front of us all the time. hard to look AROUND all of it.

even on this website: come here to discuss MOVIES, bunch of trans shit all over the place

Yes, I agree. I support the right of trans people to live as they want and be called by whichever pronoun they want.

But they are a tiny fraction of the population and we're hearing way too much about an aberration which affects only 0.3% by statistics.

I'm genuinely saddened at Ellen's mental health issues.

It's sad watching her get surgery to reconstruct her body and also pumping herself full of hormones. For the record I feel the same way about Women who get plastic surgery and Men who take steroids. It's all a bit pathetic and makes me feel sorry for them.

reply

It's a huge push in the normalization of gender molding children.

reply

"Preaching trans ideology to others, and dismissing critics as transphobic" - there is the answer.

Didnt she start pushing that kids should be mutilated? By talking about "trans kids being oppressed" or something.

"trans kids" are normal kids that gets brainwashed by their parents, twitter feed, shool to think that they are opposite gender, because its like a cool thing to do. And people like Page want to mutilate them and force them to life altering operations.

And that fact that she is everywhere in press with her fake abs and weird voice trying to convince everyone that she is "happy real man" now.

And that fact that they changed her gender in new season of beloved show Umbrella Academy. Instead of killing her character off or letting her wearing wig. But nope, out of nowhere Vanya gets haircut and demands everyone to call her Victor now. And whole her family is like: "Cool. Hi Victor, nice to meet ya. Now what were we talking about before?". It was all very cringe and hilarious.

On a show she didnt even did operation. She just got shorter haircut.

reply

I would agree with most of that, except I think most of the kids that get sucked into the mutilation mode are actually just gay. And being gay in really enough on someones plate to deal with while they are growing up, what they really don't need is some ignorant cunt like Page trying to convince them that everything will be okay if they just get their tits or dick whacked off and start taking hormones for the rest of their life. There is a reason that trans people have a higher suicide rate than non-trans people and it isn't because getting mutilated solved their mental problems.

reply

This.

Don't care if she transitions (i would even call her a man if she has a manly appearance) but when they start asking for "rights" it's when it becomes a problem.

reply

she has mental illness , sad ☹

You people (rightists?) are SO freaking crazy I swear you need to be locked up in padded rooms. Is this bait trolling or something?

"I dislike trans ideology as much as anybody else, because it seems to make things worse for everybody, including trans people themselves. "

"Trans" is not a freaking ideology. It's a serious disturbance on both sides of society.

It does not make things worse for ANYONE except maybe the person who does it to themselves. Take Michael Jackson, did his making himself look white hurt anyone else but himself? He hated being black or just being himself and being black was part of that. Same with Ellen Page you fruitcakes make people hate themselves that they hurt themselves.

Do you get some sort of sick pleasure over driving people over the edge or something? Your narcisstic personality disorders borderline on the criminal. It is NONE OF YOUR DAMN BUSINESS what people do to themselves.

Should we allow vegans to criticise you INCESSANTLY for eating meat? Should we allow them to berate you? You're hurting others as well as yourself when you eat meat.

What about environmentalists and scientists? Should we allow them to whip you medieval style for driving gas guzzlers? You seem to think it is ok to berate the hell out of people that simple don't hold your BELIEFS, you live in an alternative reality and don't understand THE FACTS, so shouldn't you go to prison for that or something?

No one is "preaching" trans ideology (there is no ideology) all we hear about is you preaching anti-trans, anti-this, anti-that and pure hatred. Your religion is ignorance stupidity and hatred. Should we have you imprisoned for being stupid since you harm all of society with your stupidity and anti-social behavior?

reply

You haven't been keeping up with trans advocates, have you? They turned gender itself into an ideology, it's practically a religion right now. More than a few of them are incapable/unwilling to even define what "woman" means, because they want to turn it into a belief instead of a physical construct. That's why they're always babbling about "your truth", "my truth", everybody's own "personal truths", and some sort of right to "exist".

They're even trying to turn their own children into them. Just look up "theybies".

Also, look up Lia Thomas and trans women in sports. Inclusion of trans people into wherever they want to express themselves does make things worse for other people who don't want to be a part of it.

I'm not without sympathy for people with psychological struggles, but for better or worse I have to respect their right to personal choice and personal responsibility. And unfortunately too many of them refuse to seek help because "leftists" taught them that identity is a source of instant pride and comfort, and they should value it at all costs.

And it's making things worse for them.

Transphobia. Persistence of gender is some kind of taboo, particularly among right wing and traditionalist people.

Transphobia is usually concealed under some excuse. You have some popular ones:

- Identifying woke ideology with trans, and blaming trans for it. That reached the point where woke ideology applied to trans is called "trans ideology", even though many trans people oppose it. Inside trans community that ideology is labeled as "tucute", and not accepted as representative of trans. What's more, many transsexual people argue that tucutes are mostly cis roleplaying for the sake of feeling special, particularly the non-binary ones, and that this ideology, if something, it's cis.

- Identifying trans with sexual perverts. Let's be honest: there's sexual perverts that are using the trans label as a safe conduct. Some even transition. They share a quite obvious profile: often narcissist, exhibitionist and sexually aggressive. Among transsexuals, they're labeled as transvestites and aren't even considered as trans. Of course, that's a matter of debate, but you often see transphobes trying to assign this profile to every MtF trans under the sun.

- Talking about "science", and usually focusing in chromosomes while dismissing sex characteristics, which are part of biological sex too and change under cross-sex hormones. It's just another excuse: there's intersex people who transition (it's quite common in that community) and they face the exact same transphobia and then some, even though they would be "genetically correct".

At the end of the day, it's a social taboo: if you're raised as a male, you should stay that way, if you're raised as a female, you should stay that way. Changing gender is seen as a sin.

Why Elliot Page is facing so much hate? Because he's transsexual. That's the paradox: woke that roleplay don't fully transition, they just take some hormones to look androgynous and stay non-binary, they preach non-stop that non-sense woke ideology... and they rarely face hate. They're seen as cis going through a rebel phase. They don't break the taboo.

However, transsexual people, even if they're reasonable and avoid conflict, even if they mind their own business, they face harassment and transphobia. Transphobe use wokes, and perverts, and transvestites, and every excuse under the sun to justify it. At the end of the day, they always target the same people: the ones that break that damn sacred taboo.

reply

"Transphobia" if it is even real is a mental illness. Hating people who have zero affect on you is crazy.

reply

I wouldn't call it a mental illness, but it's definitely unhealthy. Both for yourself and the ones around you.

reply

Whatever you just said, do you have a tl;dr version?

reply

TL;DR Changing your sex is taboo, that's why they hate Elliot Page. Woke activists are nuts and preachy, but you won't see them facing any hate unless they transition medically. At the end of the day, the core reason for that hate is this sex change taboo, no matter they recognize it or not. Everything else are excuses.

I just think Elliot needs to apologise to Chris Pratt.

He tweeted in 2019 that Chris Pratt should address his “infamously anti-LGBTQ+ church”

Firstly how does he know for a fact which Church Pratt goes to? Secondly it’s none of his business which church Pratt goes to.

He shouldn’t be using his platform to try and cancel celebs, especially without proof.

But apart from that I don’t have a problem with Elliot, I just think his film career has nosedived and he hasn’t had a substantial role in a great film since 2010’s Inception.
