Even though I watched Starsky and Hutch when I was a kid, I mostly identify with him being the lead role in Salem's Lot. He was so great in that role.

Yup, fellow 70s kid here who watched S+H often and I agree! Easily my favorite vampire movie of all time(my 2nd favorite King book too...)Danny at the window scared me shitless even at thirteen years old!

Hands down, the creepiest part of the film, and a serious contender for creepiest scene from ANY film.

I'd have to go for Mike Ryerson in the rocking chair ('Look at me teacher...') as the scariest, but the kid at the window was certainly creepy.

I think Soul's performance in Salem's Lot is underrated. You really feel his fear when he's making those crosses out of spatulas in the morgue and trying to recite the 23rd Psalm as Mrs Glick starts to 'wake up'. Seeing 'Hutch' that scared is pretty sobering.
