IDF official condemns her as a terror supporter

Israeli official slams Greta Thunberg after she backs Palestinians in Gaza
Israeli army spokesperson apologises after saying: ‘Whoever identifies with Greta in any way in the future, in my view, is a terror supporter.’

The Israeli military lashed out at Swedish climate activist Greta Thunberg on Friday, after she sent a message supporting Palestinians and endorsed a comment which said a "genocide" was being perpetrated in Gaza.

Thunberg said “the world needs to speak up and call for an immediate ceasefire, justice and freedom for Palestinians and all civilians affected,” as the Israel-Hamas war escalates and threatens to become a regional conflict.

Thunberg also shared on her Instagram account a post by a German-based pro-Palestinian account which says a “genocide” is happening in Gaza.

The group, Palestine Speaks — which celebrated Hamas' lethal assault on Israel two weeks ago — talked of its "indignation against genocide in Gaza and the repressive state terror of many Western states against anyone who shows and acts in solidarity with the Palestinians.”

In reaction, Arye Sharuz Shalicar, spokesman for the Israeli army, told POLITICO: "Whoever identifies with Greta in any way in the future, in my view, is a terror supporter."

He added: "Because what Greta is doing, that she is now showing solidarity with Gaza while not saying a word about the massacres of Israelis, shows that she is actually not in favor of the Palestinians, but that she is sweeping the terror of the Palestinians or Hamas and Islamic Jihad under the table as if it did not exist."

Arye Sharuz Shalicar later apologized for his remarks about Thunberg supporters and said, "I spoke out of a deep sense of pain and my words do not reflect my personal views or those of the IDF."

Thunberg herself also issued an updated statement. "We are of course against any type of discrimination, and condemn antisemitism in all forms and shapes. This is non-negotiable," she said.

Hamas militants triggered the most serious military flare-up in decades, after launching a violent attack on Israeli communities earlier this month, killing more than a thousand people and firing rockets at major cities including Tel Aviv and Jerusalem. Israel has since retaliated with a relentless bombing campaign on the Gaza Strip, as it moves to destroy Hamas.

Pro-Palestinian protests have broken out across Europe, with governments including those in France and Germany looking to crack down.

This story has been updated to reflect additional comments from Arye Sharuz Shalicar and from Greta Thunberg.

Horrifying: Iranian TV Host Says No Mercy For Jewish Children
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JJufwbEZtd0

A commentator on Iranian state TV shockingly argues that there should be no mercy shown to any Israelis, even old ladies and children, as they are all considered valid military targets. He condemns Israeli social media accounts trying to garner sympathy for civilian suffering and compares showing mercy to Israelis to showing mercy to a "sharp-toothed tiger." The dehumanizing rhetoric aims to justify Hamas rocket attacks on civilians.

I'm puzzled as to where this seemingly new anti-Israli hate is stemming from.

I knew that blacks always hated Jews, but I thought it was cynically because of envy, that as a minority and hated group, Jews are still incredibly successful and prosperous. And blacks is like "why can't we be more like those?".

Is it because of BLM that the Left seems to have latched on to the anti-semitism? And are getting a mostly free pass by the liberal media. Or is it because liberals hate America, and Israel and America are joined at the hip?

To that I say........... W........T..........F ?

The left has always hated Israel. According to them, Israel is supposedly this European white supremacist colonial state and all that, and they oppress the poor brown Arabs. Even though Jews, like the Arabs, are Semitic and left Europe because they were not white and 'Aryan' enough.

UK’s Sunak flies in to show support, but at home anti-Israel sentiment is rampant

While it may be quietly held, public support and sympathy for Israel is evident in polls published in recent days. Forty percent of voters felt the UK should be more supportive towards Israel or has got the balance right, with only 22% calling for a more critical stance (39% said they didn’t know). Asked which side they sympathized with more, support for Israel has doubled since May to 21%, dropped by eight points to 15% for the Palestinians, and remained steady at 20% for “both sides equally.” The polls also show Conservative and elderly voters adopting a more pro-Israel line.

But, as in the US, demographic changes may bring future problems for pro-Israel groups. As Matthew Godwin, a conservative academic, noted this week, while polling shows that 81% of over-65s agree that Hamas is a terrorist group, that number falls to 41% among 18-24-year-olds (11% disagreed and nearly half didn’t know). “We have a big problem in Britain,” said Godwin.

Interesting, then, that American Jews would identify more closely with Democrats!

"Pew Research Center surveys, including the 2020 study, show that Jews are among the most consistently liberal and Democratic groups in the U.S. population. Seven-in-ten Jewish adults identify with or lean toward the Democratic Party, and half describe their political views as liberal."

Well, Noam Chomsky is pro-Israel and a leftist. But many American Jews feel let down by the Democratic Party, apparently.

Thank you for that EleazarHisSon. It's making sense now. I think until now, at least through my life experience, liberals have hidden their anti-semitism well.

One thing I keep wondering is if the British Government's response to the Brighton bombings in the 1980s had been a sustained attack and to reduce Dublin to rubble, how long would would the credibility of "Well they attacked us first!" last for?

Would every single western government pay lip service to all those lying dead and being displaced / ethnically cleansed, whilst kindly reminding us of the British right to defend themselves as the IRA had struck first?

Would anyone who decried the British response be described as a supporter of terrorism?
