I don't think they are able to actually sign their names.
Clicking on pretty stars is possibly the utmost intellectual achievement they are capable of.

As somebody else said, it's actually surprising that so MANY of the IMDB diligent voters even SAW this.

Which is why I hardly even come here anymore.
This was supposed to be a "Mecca" for film lovers.
What it IS, is a sandbox for intellectual toddlers.

All of the people who gave it a "1" no doubt have never seen another silent film in their lives. MAYBE they saw a single Charlie Chaplin or Buster Keaton comedy, but they just thought those were mildly humorous and chuckled to themselves at past generations who could be entertained so thoroughly by something so simple and unrealistic. They are unaware/unable to grasp that silent filmmaking has a language of its own, and a style and pacing that is completely unrelated to modern action movies. It is a language and an art of pantomime, of showing rather than telling, and while it is limited by its lack of dialogue on one hand, on the other hand it is liberated into "pure cinema," where everything you need to create art is snapshots projected quickly one after the other. These people go about living their lives, possibly happy, never realizing the great poverty of their souls for being incapable of appreciating this beauty. (I am personally not very capable of appreciating the complexity of classical music, but I know my poverty and lament it. They are ignorant even of their lack.)
