Is anyone else astounded that Ronald Colman has not recieved more attention than he has? Enough about Marilyn and Elvis! Show the movies of the REAL actors. Ronald Colman's movies should be played more. I especially loved this one of his. He is so intense and passionate in every move he makes. You really feel this man is going crazy. A wonderful movie

I'm wondering if this is the first movie I've seen Ronald Colman in so far, i'f I've seen him in something else before, I can't recall at the moment.

I've seen several of Ronald Colman's movies. This is the best performance of those movies. He's also terrific in The Talk of the Town and Random Harvest.

The problem with your post is that Ronald Colman was among the leading box office stars for almost 30 years. He was extremely popular (big box office) and among the most sought after stars. Everyone, but EVERYONE knew and loved Colman, it seems.
But what you are really complaining about is that due to the hegemony of youth culture that pervades our current, rather mindless, popular entertainment industry, no one, or very few at least, under 45, knows anything about the great stars or their films pre-1960 or so. How could they? They are never exposed to it.
Thank God for TCM.

I say thank God for TCM all the time. You are so right - the youth of today have no idea what a real star is - also they have little idea of true class, I am sad to say.
Yes, Random Harvest was a movie I saw as a child and it has stuck with me all these years. Aside: Greer Garson and my father were in the same hospital in Dallas and died within a week of each other and are now in the same cemetery. I think it helped my father's last days knowing he was down the hall from his beloved Greer.
The Halls of Ivy is just excellent! It's not easy to acquire but it is worth listening - you will fall in love with it and Mr. Colman. I think he was also a guest on Talulah Bankhead's radio show. But Jack Benny plus Colman equals gold.
He was an excellent actor for that time.
shareHe gave a terrific performance in A Double Life. A character with so much passion for his craft that it tragically caused him to become delusional. His expressions when he transfixes on his delusions were visually compelling. The acting overall in A Double Life is amazing with a special mention of Signe Hasso's performance as Tony's friend and former companion. Her loving treatment of Tony and their chemistry together was touching to watch.

I've only seen him in this and Lost Horizon, but as someone else here mentioned, this is one of the best performances I've ever seen.
